Letter from E. Elath, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, to Mrs Jano Clement-Davies, 5 March,

Letter from E. Elath, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, to Mrs Jano Clement-Davies, 5 March 1963. Has no personal documents relating to Clement Davies in his files, but there may be some in the official files of the Embassy in London. Would be happy to write a note about his contacts with Clement Davies when he [the writer] was Israel's Ambassador in London.

Letter from Councillor Wynne Thomas, JP, Aberdyfi, to Mrs Jano Clement-Davies, 28 February,

Letter from Councillor Wynne Thomas, JP, Aberdyfi, to Mrs Jano Clement-Davies, 28 February 1963. Recounts a speech made by Clement Davies at a public meeting at Aberdyfi 'during the latter period of the second great War' to 'help the War effort in the neighbourhood.' 'The distinguished Chairman [Lord Atkin of Aberdyfi] and Speaker were at their very best that night.'.

Letter from John W. Benson, Hon. Secretary of the Eighty Club, to Mrs Jano Clement-Davies, 18 February,

Letter from John W. Benson, Hon. Secretary of the Eighty Club, to Mrs Jano Clement-Davies, 18 February 1963. Thinks any biography of Clement Davies should include material about Clement Davies's connection with the Eighty Club, of which he was a Vice-President and later Deputy-President. Encloses a booklet on the Club. No booklet attached.

Letter from the Hon. W. Rupert Davies, Toronto, Ontario, to Mrs Jano Clement-Davies, 4 February,

Letter from the Hon. W. Rupert Davies, Toronto, Ontario, to Mrs Jano Clement-Davies, 4 February 1963. Recommends the Winnipeg Free Press and the Toronto Globe and Mail as suitable newspapers in which Mrs Clement-Davies might publish her appeal. She needs to emphasise that Clement Davies was the Leader of the Liberal Party in Britain and thus an important public figure. The biography should also stress that Clement Davies was invited to become a member of Churchill's Government in 1951.

Letter from Iain Hamilton to Mrs Jano Clement-Davies, 31 January,

Letter from Iain Hamilton to Mrs Jano Clement-Davies, 31 January 1963. Recommends Robert Lusty of Hutchinson as a suitable publisher and suggests consulting a literary agent, such as Curtis Brown Ltd, to find a suitable biographer. He states three conditions for the biographer; he must be (a) good, (b) free to take on the job, and (c) able to do it within the financial limitations which the estimated sale of the book will impose.
