Gwyrthiau y Wynfydedig Fair a St Edmund,

A collection of mostly religious prose in Welsh compiled by four or fives scribes between the second half of the thirteenth century and the first half of the fourteenth century. Texts in the first part include the Miracles of the Virgin Mary (p. 1); the Miracles of St Edmund (p. 33); and Sibli's Dream (p. 45). Texts in the second part of the manuscript include the histories of Judas and Adam; the childhood of Christ; the Life of St Margaret; and secular prose, namely Proffwydoliaeth Myrddin and Ystoria Beredur.

Gwehelyth,

A mid-16th century manuscript comprising pedigrees and notes concerning pedigrees; notes on grammar; lists of words; and poetry.
The notes relating to pedigrees may be in the hand of Gruffudd Hiraethog.

Gwasanaeth y Wynfidedig Fair,

A mid-15th century manuscript comprising the Office of the Blessed Virgin; prayers; Y Groglith; Ystoria y Grog o Hynt Elen i Gaersalem; and a Calendar.
Pp. 5-10, 61-2 are in the hand of W. W. E. Wynne, Esq. of Peniarth.

Gwasanaeth y Fendigaid Fair,

The office of the Blessed Virgin Mary, translated from Latin by Dafydd Ddu Hiraddug; and part of a calendar.
The text agrees with, and supplies the lacunae in, the text of Peniarth MS 191.

Gwaith Guto'r Glyn, etc.

A collection of the work of Guto’r Glyn, followed on pp. 234-321 by other cywyddau of [15 cent.], all in the hand of Robert Vaughan, writing [mid-17cent., not before 1654]. The beginning of the manuscript was already wanting when it was paginated in [18 cent.]; its end is also wanting. Vaughan added a few variant readings (e.g. pp. 9-11). One watermark appears to be Heawood 3627 [not before 1654].

Gramadegau a cherddi,

A manuscript partly in the hand of Simwnt Fychan comprising vocabularies; grammatical texts; texts on the rules of cynghanedd; poetry of Hywel Cae Llwyd (possibly in his hand) and others; and pedigrees.

Gramadeg Cymraeg,

Bardic grammar, beginning ‘Llyma ddosbarth Edern dafod aur’ (pp. 5-131). On its texts, very close to those of Wiliam Cynwal in Cardiff MS 1.16, see Gramadegau’r Penceirddiaid, eds G.J. Williams and E.J. Jones (Caerdydd, 1934), p. liii and pp. 183-4. All in the formal secretary hand of David Powel with display in fere-textura; a few notes (e.g. pp. 52, 92, 107) are in his characteristic italic.

Genealogies,

A manuscript in the hand of several scribes, the first of which may be Siôn Tudur, comprising genealogies; poetry of Ieuan Briwton, Owen Briwton, Guto'r Glyn, Iolo Goch, Siôn Tudur and others; Statud Gruffudd ap Kynan; lists of the sheriffs of Flintshire and Denbighshire; and medical recipes.

Dyfeisiau herodaidd,

A collection of pedigrees and heraldic devices (mostly coloured) in the autographs of William Llŷn, Rhys Cain and others.

Documents relating to the abbeys of Valle Crucis and Cymer,

Two original Latin documents, one relating to the abbey of Valle Crucis, with an imperfect seal, 1247, and the other relating to Cymer Abbey, with a seal in good condition, 1530.
Also included are two pages of notes concerning these items, the first by W. W. E. Wynne, 1860, and the second by John Ballinger, 29 March 1909.
