Declaration (in the suit Morgan v Ellis) of David Davies of the Carpenters Arms, Llangybi, concerning Penlan estate. Recites that Penlan belonged to Rees Morgan who for the last 18 or 19 years of his life was a prisoner for debt in Cardigan gaol, where he died about 32 years ago. He was succeeded at Penlan, by David Lloyd Harries, and attorney and solicitor of Llandovery, who after a few years sold it to Rees Morgan, the younger, son of Rees Morgan, aforesaid, who held it until the termination of an action brought against him by Thomas Morgan (since decd.), a grandson of Thomas Morgan, the elder (decd.) who was second son of Rees Morgan, who died at Cardigan gaol.
