The letters relate mainly to military affairs (returns and movements of troops, accounts of military disbursements, etc.); administrative matters (filling vacancies to the Council and to chiefships of stations,etc.); financial concerns (collection of revenues, the salt trade,etc.); and to relationships with the native princes.
