The series comprises a file of annual summaries of totals of weekly church collections, 1901-1943, including draft summaries for several years, Building Fund account books, 1916-1969, and members' contribution books, 1921-1969. The Building Fund and members' contributions accounts are totalled yearly, and usually signed off by the auditors or the presbytery visitors.

The series comprises deeds relating to the purchase of the Octagon Chapel, 1814, mortgages, 1817-1853; trust deeds, 1835-1851, and deeds relating to the purchase of part of the chapel trustee's estate by the London & North Western Railway Company, 1863-1864. The series also includes an assignment by the trustees of the Calvinistic Connection of the Rev. Philip Oliver to the trustees of the Welsh Calvinistic Connection of six chapels and other hereditaments in Cheshire, 4 December 1853.

Minute books

The series comprises the church officers' meetings minute books, although the meetings are called deacons' meetings, 1879-1889, and pastorate committee meetings, 1911-1912. Most of the volumes have items glued into them, including letters and annual reports.

Miscellaneous papers

The file comprises a plan of proposed alterations to the chapel's entrance hall, c.1898, two items relating to the Association of the East's spring session at City Road, 1948, including an article by T. W. Thomas, City Road Presbyterian Church, Chester: a short history, and a notice of a public service to celebrate the presbytery's centenary, 1954.
