A volume, [c. 1754], in the hand of Richard Pughe, surgeon and apothecary, of Machynlleth, Montgomeryshire, later of Llanegryn and Hendre, Abergynolwyn, Merioneth, containing notes on human anatomy and physiology taken mainly from William Cheselden, The Anatomy of the Humane Body, 3rd edn (London, 1726) (ff. 1-28 verso), Alexander Monro, The Anatomy of the Human Bones (Edinburgh, 1726) (ff. 29-38 verso), and from lectures delivered by William Bromfield (ff. 39-68), together with medical prescriptions (ff. 101-29 verso, inside back cover).
A short monetary account, 1816, in the hand of the surgeon's grandson Robert Pughe has been added on f. 84 verso.
