Papers of Julian Williams, former set designer in the Design Department of BBC Wales, including scripts of plays broadcast during the 1960s, among them works by Saunders Lewis and Gwenlyn Parry. The collection includes papers, photographs, and a few books relating to the donor’s family, including his parents Thomas Basil and Rhyda Ann Williams, his great-aunt Professor Mary Williams, and her husband G. Arbour Stephens of Swansea.

Typescript radio and television scripts, in various conditions (some incomplete), and some annotated with illustrations by JW. Also included are production notes and studio floor plans for various programmes. Photographs of BBC sets during the same period have been transferred to the Library’s photographic collection.

Various scripts written by Julian Williams: The Raising of Walters (1970, four copies), The Break (1977, two copies), and the possibly autobiographical The Last Hill Before Home (undated). The box also contains two copies of a summary of ‘Y Gwyliwr’, also by Julian Williams.
