Addresses and speeches

The file includes a printed copy of a lecture entitled “The Control of Armaments and East-West Stability” delivered by Peter Thomas to the NATO Defense College, January 1965; notes for a speech opposing capital punishment [1966]; Peter Thomas’ tribute at the memorial service to Mollie Pott, widow of Henry Percivall Pott, MP for Devizes, 11 February 1984.

Conway constituency

The file comprises election ephemera relating to Peter Thomas as the Conservative candidate for the Conway constituency in the 1951, 1955, 1959 and 1964 General Elections. Also, an original file containing a biography of Peter Thomas by the Biography Service, 1961; two letters, 1963, from the Chairman of Conway Constituency Conservative and Unionist Association addressed to Peter Thomas and notes in the hand of Peter Thomas relating to the Conway Constituency AGM held on 25 March 1967. Peter Thomas was the MP for Conway between 1951 and 1966.

The file comprises election ephemera relating to Peter Thomas as the Conservative candidate for the Hendon South constituency in the 1970, 1979 and 1983 General Elections. Also, programme of events and Who’s Who of Hendon South Conservative Association, 1983/84; minutes of the 16th Annual General Meeting of the Greater London Area Conservative Council, held at Caxton Hall, Westminster on 19 March 1981 (Peter Thomas was the President) and an original presentation and copies of a token of gratitude and appreciation from Garden Suburb Ward Conservatives for his service as an MP, dated 24 October 1987. Peter Thomas was the MP for Hendon South between 1970 and 1987.
