A volume containing a dictionary of rhymes (i.e. lists of Welsh words arranged according to word endings e.g. adafaela, adara, ... ysgwyddwisg, yswythbysg) in the hand of Evan Evan ('Ieuan Glan Geirionydd'). Beginning at the end of the volume are a list, in the same hand, of selections from the New Testament appropriate for reading on specified Sundays, and a draft of a 'pryddest', 1 December 1885, on 'Dyffryn Conwy' by 'Hanesydd' i.e. William John Roberts ('Gwilym Cowlyd') composed for an eisteddfod at Llanrwst. Watermark: 1834.

Ffrwdfâl manuscript,

A notebook of William Davies, Froodvale (Ffrwdfâl), bound in brown paper and inscribed 'W. Davies, Ph. D. April 12, 1846'. It contains extracts from expositary notes on scripture and notes of sermons, 1846-9 and undated, preached at Park[-y-rhos], Crug[-y-bar], Esger[dawe] and Rhydybont Congregational churches and at farmhouses called Penrhiwe and Tynypyllau in the Cynwyl Gaeo area, Carmarthenshire; poetry in Welsh and English, 1847 and undated, titles which include: 'To Rev. D[avid] E[vans, rector of] Kilgerran', 'On the Marriage of Rev. M. Jones R[ural] Dean', and 'To Tegid' [i.e. John Jones ('Ioan Tegid')], etc.; a few particulars of 'Pubs', i.e. preaching publications, mainly in Pembrokeshire, June-July 1847; and memoranda of curricula at Brecon [Independent] and Carm[arthen Presbyterian] Colleges 1846, and of book titles, of personal addresses, etc.

Extracts from the scriptures; rules of the South Wales Unitarian Society; etc.

Miscellaneous papers, home-made booklets, etc., containing various items in the hand of Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg') bound together in one volume. A considerable part of the volume is devoted to extracts from the Old and New Testaments in English and Welsh (sometimes grouped together as illustrative of specified ideas or subjects - 'Iesu Grist yn Ddyn', 'Iesu Grist yn ddarostyngedig i'r Tad', 'Aberth Crist', 'Divine Unity', etc.) and lists of textual references from the two Testaments grouped under headings such as 'Mab Duw', 'Mab y Dyn', 'Meibion Duw', 'Iachawdwriaeth', 'Satan', 'Yspryd Glân', 'Crist', and similar topics. Other items in the volume, pagination in brackets, include a transcript of an 'englyn' (this item possibly in the hand of Edward Williams's son Taliesin Williams) and an extract from [William] Warrington [: The History of Wales] relating to the Welsh in the time of Giraldus Cambrensis (10-11); a list in Welsh of the rules of the South Wales Unitarian Society ('Rheolau a Threfniadau Cymdeithas Dwyfundodiaid Deheubarth Cymru a gyttunwyd arnynt gan Henuriaid y Gymdeithas yn eu Cyfarfod Cyffredinol yn y Gelli Onnen ym Morganwg arddydd Gwener yr wythfed o Fis Hydref yn y Flwyddyn 1802') with an introductory note on the aims of the society (159-74); a list of the names of people ? connected with, or members of, the aforementioned Unitarian Society (175-7); a brief list of expressions or sayings in Welsh attributed to Charles Winter [Arminian Baptist] minister at Craig Fargod [co. A thin notebook containing englynion, etc. on Biblical subjects and on subjects of Anglesey interest e.g. 'Y Gledrffordd i Lanerchymedd'. Three of the englynion, on the inside upper and lower covers, are attributed to 'Maudwy', but the remainder are anonymous.

Englynion coffa Dafydd Ionawr

Transcripts of nearly two hundred and fifty epitaphs to David Richards (Dafydd Ionawr) in the form of englynion, many of which were written for a competition adjudicated by Ebenezer Thomas (Eben Fardd).

Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Pontypridd, 1893,

A manuscript in the hand of William John Roberts ('Gwilym Cowlyd') containing two 'awdlau' on 'Pwlpud Cymru' by 'Gweledydd' and 'Hefin ab Gwyndaf' respectively, which were submitted for competition at Pontypridd National Eisteddfod, 1893, and an ?'incomplete adjudication on the 'hir a thoddeidiau' on 'Toriad y Dydd' at the same eisteddfod. 'Gwilym Cowlyd' was one of the adjudicators in both competitions. The prize for the 'awdl' was awarded to 'Obed-Edom (the Reverend J. Ceulanydd Williams, Maesteg) and for the 'hir a thoddaid' to 'Glan Gweryddon' (William Roberts, 'Gwilym Eryri').

A collection of autograph original poems and translations by Nathan Dyfed, with press cuttings of poems, mainly of Glamorgan interest, by him and by other authors.

Dyddiadur Robert Williams, Rhydycroesau,

A diary, January 1832 to 21 February 1847, of Robert Williams, perpetual curate of Rhydycroesau, near Oswestry from 1838 to 1879. Robert Williams served as curate of Llangernyw, Denbighshire from 1833 to 1836 and was appointed perpetual curate of Llangadwaladr in 1837. The diary, which is written in Welsh, contains references to events in his home district of Conway as well as to the areas where he served as a cleric. Beginning at the end of the volume there are poems by [John Jones] ('Tegid') (1828); a list of books entitled 'Llyvrau yn Ty Deon', 19 August 1832; accounts with booksellers, stationers, etc., 1832-9; extracts from Aristotle's Rhetoric; and lists of clothes ('Rhestr Dillad'), linen ('Lliain') and carpenter's tools ('Oferynau Saer').
