Volume intitled 'Survey. Breconshire estates. 1820', being a survey of the Breconshire and Herefordshire estates of Sir Charles Morgan, presented to him by Thomas Bold, agent, March 1821. The estates are divided into the Tredegar estate (4,555a), Dderw estate (1,572a.), Palleg estate (2,164a.) and Herefordshire estate (487a.), and include interests in canals and other utilities.

A manuscript containing the names of all rectories 'in the kingdom of England and Calais and the Marches thereof' of the annual value of over £10, arranged in dioceses, deaneries and counties, followed by the names of all vicarages in England, Wales and the Marches of the annual value of over £10, similarly arranged, all having been transcribed from the Liber Regis in the First Fruits and Tenths Office.

Journey notes and observations, 1766-1787, including notes from visits to London and Birmingham in 1766 concerning the manufacture of pig and bar iron. The notes contain the names and addresses of businessmen and details of their work, and notes on lead imports and exports in London. Also included are notes on forge processes at a foundry in Bristol, 1787, and observations on water wheels.

Miscellaneous prose pieces by Idris Davies, [1930s]-[1940s], comprising an essay entitled 'Teify Side' (ff. 1-3); drafts of a memoir entitled 'A Schoolboy During the Great War' (ff. 4-17); 'Portrait of an Old Welsh Miner' (ff. 18-29); fragment of a novel or short story (ff. 30-4) and draft of the beginning of a novel (ff. 35-9); five brief, surrealistic prose pieces (ff. 40-51); letter to the News Chronicle about a Fascist demonstration in Trafalgar Square, 1937 (ff. 52-7); Holiday in a Mining Valley (ff. 58-73); a Welsh version of 'A Schoolboy During the Great War' (ff. 74-84); and copies of two prose pieces published in Comment, 19 September 1936 and 23 January 1937 (ff. 85-6).

Legal precedents written in several hands and based largely on legal records of the early years of the reign of George II. Several of the documents recorded in the volume are of interest to co. Middlesex.

Two nineteenth-century tune books now joined together as one volume, the first bearing the dates 1816 and 1866 (inside covers) in the hand of Mair Richards of Darowen, and the second 1850 (inside front cover); the first part contains popular and traditional Welsh song and dance tunes, the second, English waltzes, marches and quicksteps with a few traditional Welsh tunes and hymn-tunes. Also included are an englyn attributed to M[air] R[ichards], but signed below in red by David Richards ('Dewi Silin'; 1783-1826), who may have been the first owner (part one, f. 1).

A minute-book, 1869-1878, of the Montgomeryshire and Salop Presbytery (Welsh Calvinistic Methodist Church), with statistics for the years 1870-1871, 1873-1876.

A manuscript armorial of English and Welsh families entitled The nomenclature or Heralds Alphabett of Surnames, A-K (vol. I), with additional notes by Peter Le Neve (1661-1729), Norroy King at Arms. Painted coat-of-arms have been affixed to the manuscript at relevant points throughout the work.

Black and white photographs documenting research into the life cycle of mushrooms with a view to increasing crop size. There is some duplication.

Album bound in black leather with gold tooling and slightly damaged. Includes commercially and privately produced photographs, many of Lancaster and the north west of England. Of particular note are images of the Yarlside Iron Mines, street scenes in Preston (Lancashire), Lancaster Quay Commissioners trip 188-, River Thames after a University boat race, numerous views of Downing Hall, Flintshire and grounds, some being snowscenes.

A composite volume of the period c. 1764-1765 containing transcripts and drafts of reports on education in England, Wales, and Ireland, and of other papers on education, collected by a Russian commissioner with a view to establishing an educational system in Russia.
