The file includes correspondence, 1983, regarding a controversial piece written on the Companion to the Literature of Wales for the newsletter; and correspondence with or references to many prominent writers including Cary Archard, Wynford Vaughan-Thomas, Moira Dearnley, Mike Jenkins, Duncan Bush, Richard Griffiths, James Roose-Evans and Cliff James and Glyn Jones.

Letters, 1941-2001. Among the correspondents are Elwyn Evans, Jackson Mathews, Rush Rhys (3), Wynford Vaughan-Thomas, Glyn Jones, Brian [Lewis] (3), Raymond Garlick, Gwyn Jones, Nicole Crossley-Holland, Nigel Jenkins; together with letters received by Manon Hellings in the years after her husband's death. Also included is a postcard sent by Peter Hellings to his mother in 1946 from Jerusalem.

The file contains voting cards, lists of votes cast and biographical notes on those nominated for membership, 1983, and correspondence regarding the nominations. Those elected were Cary Archard, Wynford Vaughan Thomas, Moira Dearnley, Mike Jenkins, Duncan Bush and Richard Griffiths. The file also contains a letter from Chris O'Neill accepting membership of the Academi, and Sian James, accepting a seat on the section's executive committee.

The file consists of correspondence and papers relating to a proposed memorial to Wynford Vaughan Thomas at Dylife, Powys, which was eventually unveiled on 11 May 1990.
