It was purchased by the Library in early 2011. The letters include contributors to the project such as Glyn Jones, Jonah Jones and Gwyn Thomas.

The fonds comprises material dating between 1963 and 2001, consisting mainly of correspondence, [c.1970]-2001, between the Federation and various musical societies on matters of financial aid and membership fees, providing a valuable overview of a wide range of musical activities throughout Wales. It also contains correspondence with other arts organisations and bodies, both national and regional, copies of rules, constitutions and accounts of the various constituent societies as well as programmes, leaflets, posters and other printed ephemera, covering the period from 1963 to 2001. Several files contain papers relating specifically to the Federation's internal committees. Only one file relates to the Federation's own administration.

A volume containing a transcript of Griffith Jones, Welch Piety for 1751-1752 (London, 1753) and of part of the Welch Piety for 1753-1754 (London, 1755) and 1756-1757 (London, 1757) (ff. 1-138); extracts relating to the history of religion in Wales (ff. 139-232v) mainly from published works but a few extracts from manuscripts of H. T. Edwards, dean of Bangor (see ff. 149v, 168v-9v, 171v-2, 188. 201v); and extracts from Panton MSS 41 and 57 (ff. 234-343). Most of the volume appears to be in the hand of the Reverend David Jones, biographer of Dean Edwards and author of Life and Times of Griffith Jones sometime Rector of Llanddowror (London, 1902) and the dates 1889 (ff. 198, 201, 202v) and 1891 (ff. 332, 343, 'Copied by me D. J. ...') occur.
