Original bundle labelled as per title but also including some items relating to Gogerddan and the Brecosnhire estate, mainly dated 1710-1781. The contents relate mainly to the settlement of the debts of William Pughe, John Pughe, Thomas Pryse and John Pughe Pryse .They include accounts, rentals, and letters from agents and creditors. Items of interest include ‘John Pughe’s case’ [c. 1726], ‘debts and incumbrances of John Pughe’, 1744; Mr Powell’s charges for chief rents on Gogerddan, 1733-1744; a table of fees of the court baron of Cyfeiliog [1730s]; a case of trespass and ejectment in the court of the manor of Caereinion, 1737; rentals or rent accounts of Gogerddan, Cardigan Priory and Glanmeryn [c. 1737], Mathafarn, 1749, Cwm Cynvyl, 1774, Fynon Caradoc and Brynbanadle, 1755-1767, and chief rents of Gwynionydd Iscoed, (Watermark 1811); the bill of Doctor Alban Thomas for attendance on Thomas Pryse, 1744/5, an extract from the Gogerddan labourers’ book, 1751; and a letter to [Edward Loveden Loveden] from George Morgan of Brecon about the sale of the manor of Llanfihangel Tal-y-llyn, 1781. The file also contains a draft family settlement by Richard Lloyd of Mabws [pre-1757].
