Loose b&w photographs of artworks by JKW (Professional). Most do not have a photographers credit on the reverse, consequently copyright holders uncertain in these cases. Many have evidently been used in various publications. There is some duplication.

Autograph letter, 2 February 1993, from Kyffin Williams, Pwllfanogl, Llanfairpwll, to Margaret [Toms], thanking her for a letter of appreciation for his autobiography A Wider Sky (Llandysul, 1991) (f. 86 recto-verso).
Williams and Toms, a former Royal Academy staff member, had a mutual friend in Sidney Hutchison, former Secretary of the Royal Academy, and Williams refers to their recent dinner together in Beaumaris (as recorded in Williams's journal, 14 September 1992, see NLW, Kyffin Williams Archive A2/3). Also included is a card with a printed portrait by WIlliams, inscribed 'Happy Christmas - Kyffin' (f. 87).

The file includes letters from the Royal Academy of Arts (9), 1944-1988, the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art (2), 1972, the Royal Scottish Academy (1), 1947, the Royal Society of British Artists (5), 1942-1949, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters (1), 1945, and P. Wilson Steer (1), 1935.

Twelve letters, [1910]-1959, to Augustus John from various correspondents, concerning both personal matters and work.
The correspondents include Lord Beaverbrook, 26 August 1959 (f. 1), [Nora] Brownsword, [late 1920s] (f. 2), Daniel George, 10 June 1957 (f. 3), Elmer Gertz, 3 December 1932 (f. 4), Wyndham Lewis, [1910]-1952 (ff. 5-7, 12, 14-16), Dorelia McNeill, 12 November 1928 (f. 18), the Royal Academy of Arts, 6 December 1928 (f. 19), and Homer Saint-Gaudens, 7 November 1938 (f. 20). Also included are draft contracts with Little, Brown & Co., Boston, 1938, for the publication of Augustus John's reminiscences (ff. 22-33); and four letters, [1931]-1935, from Mrs Vera Fearing (later Stubbs) to her mother and husband, concerning her extended stays at Fryern Court in order for John to paint her portrait (ff. 34-46), with another brief note by her concerning John, [?1950s] (f. 47). Transcripts and notes [by Michael Holroyd], [?1970s], relating to the Wyndham Lewis letters are ff. 8-11, 13, 17. The letters contain references to Frank Harris (f. 4 recto-verso) and Henry Lamb (f. 6).
