The file contains corresondence, 1968-1969, accumulated by Sally Roberts Jones as secretary of the English Language Section of the Academi. Many of the drafts are incomplete, many only of the first paragraph of the letter. There is also a short note from D. Gwenallt Jones, 1957.

The file comprises manuscript draft letters to The Times, Listener and the Catholic Herald, relating to The Anathemata and its broadcast, Tryweryn, church art, abstract art, changes in the liturgy, A. S. Hartrick, Augustus John, and other subjects, and a draft preface to 'The Dream of Private Clitus'. There are also draft letters to friends and associates, such as Aneirin Talfan Davies, and J. E. Jones (Plaid Cymru secretary).

The file comprises scripts of three broadcasts concerning David Jones and his work: a review of an exhibition of his paintings in Edinburgh, 21 November 1954; a review of The Anathemata, 19 December 1952; and a talks feature entitled 'David Jones', compiled and introduced by Goronwy Rees and with contributions by T. S. Eliot, Saunders Lewis, Nicolette Gray and Gwyn Williams, 29 Oct. 1954, produced by Aneirin Talfan (two copies of the script, one corrected by David Jones).

The file comprises correspondence, 1955-1984 (with gaps), including draft letters by Glyn Jones, relating to The valley, the city, the village (London, 1956 and 1980), mostly from the publishers, J. M. Dent & Sons Ltd, and includes letters from Jack Jones (copy), Raymond Garlick, Gwyn Jones (2), Gwyn Thomas, Les Faber, Elwyn Davies, Aneirin Talfan Davies, Elwyn Evans, A. G. Some letters contain references to The island of apples. -- Also included are royalty statements, 1956-1960 and 1980-1983, drafts of extracts from the novel which appear to have been adapted for radio [1963], miscellaneous notes, 1956-1958, printed reviews of the novel, 1956-1957, and a copy of the introduction to the 1980 reprint of the book.

The series comprises papers, mostly manuscript and typescript adjudications by Glyn Jones, of various, mainly literary, competitions, 1945-1988 (with numerous gaps). A number of adjudications are for competitions at school and chapel eisteddfodau, but also include adjudications of the BBC radio short story competition, 1950-1951, with letters from Gwyn Jones (9), Aneirin Talfan (5) and A. G. Prys-Jones; the Arts Council Poetry Award, 1956, which contains letters from Gwyn Jones (5); a competition sponsored by the Welsh Arts Council to translate a poem by Waldo Williams, 1970, with letters from Elan Closs Roberts (4), T. J. Morgan, Gwyn Williams and Waldo Williams (photocopy, 1963); and the Poetry Society Dylan Thomas Award 1984, with a letter from Susan Hill.

The file comprises manuscript, typescript and printed copies of stories, [1930x1944], included in The water music (London, 1944), with some related notes. In addition the file contains letters, 1944-1947, 1951, and 1966, mostly from the publishers, George Routledge and Sons Ltd (later Routledge and Kegan Paul Ltd), including letters from E. Prosser Rhys, Aneirin Talfan Davies, and Woodrow Wyatt (2), and a French translation of the story 'Bowen, Morgan and Williams'. Also included are royalty statements, and other related papers regarding the publication of the book.

In addition, the file includes scripts of a talk by Gwyn Thomas, 'Present indicative', 1955; and 'Anglo Welsh writing. The bells of Rhymney - Idris Davies' which includes comments by Glyn Jones, 1982; and an undated Welsh translation by Glyn Jones of a script delivered by Jack Jones.

The file comprises correspondence, including draft letters by Glyn Jones, 1923-1994 (with gaps), mostly personal letters which appear to be from friends and relatives. Some items also relate to literary works, broadcasts etc. by him, and to his position as member of the Drama Sub-committee of the Arts Council of Great Britain Welsh Committee, 1961-1962, and as a member of Yr Academi Gymreig (English Language Section), 1978-1979, 1981. Among the correspondents are Roland Mathias, Aneirin Talfan Davies, Elwyn Evans, John Elwyn (2), John Greve (3, including a copy of a talk by him on the work of Glyn Jones, broadcast 1958), John Ackerman Jones, Leslie Norris (3), and John Ormond. Some letters are addressed to newspaper editors and a few were sent by various correspondents to Doreen Jones. In addition, the file includes lists of letters sent and received by Glyn Jones, 1960x1985.
