Glam. held at Cardiff on 31 Mar. 1714 before Charles Coxe, esq., and William Bridges, esq., justices of the Great Sessions, wherein George Howells, esq., recovered from Thomas Herbert, gent., the manors of Denis Powis, alias Dinas Powis, Tregarreeke, Kibber and Cardiffe Cornely, alias South Cornely, Landough, alias Landough juxta Pennarth, Coggan and Newton, alias Newton Nottage, and 110 m's, 2 water corn mills, 110 gardens, and 2,140 a. of land in Cardiff, Crockertown, and Swanzey and in p's St Andrews Pennarth, Landough juxta Penarth, Coggan, Merthir Dovan, Highlight, Cadoxton juxta Barry, St Marys in Cardiffe, St John Baptist in Cardiffe, Swanzey, Oystermouth, Langevelach, St Jones juxta Swanzey, Lansamlet, Pile and Kenfigg, Newton Nottage, Roath, Llandaffe, Whitchurch, St Brides super Ely, Peterston super Ely, and Ystradevoduck, also certain portions of tithes in Roath in co. Glam. The said Thomas Herbert called upon Edward Herbert to warrant his title.
