A manuscript of John Roberts ('Ieuan Gwyllt') used originally as a register of the pupils who enrolled in his school at Nanteos Arms [Capel Seion, near Aberystwyth] from its foundation on 12 June to 1 July 1839. The volume was subsequently used, [c. 1839-1840], to record hymn-tunes, hymns, metrical psalms, etc., by 'Ieuan Gwyllt', and notes of sermons by John Hughes, Pontrobert, [Thomas] Richards, Fishguard, David Howels, Thos. Evans, O. Williams, and H. Hughes, Llanrwst.

A composite volume of the period c. 1764-1765 containing transcripts and drafts of reports on education in England, Wales, and Ireland, and of other papers on education, collected by a Russian commissioner with a view to establishing an educational system in Russia. The manuscript is a copy of NLW 19613B by, and in the hand of, Henry Howard Evans, Llwynypia, general manager of Cambrian Collieries Ltd.

The main families were Mostyn of Mostyn Hall and Hope of Broughton and Hope.

The fonds consists of personal papers and correspondence, 1826-1967, of members of the family of Rees Jenkin Jones, namely the Rev. John Jones (1802-1863), Mrs Anne Griffith Jones (1852-1899), Dr Goronwy Jones (1881-1945), the Rev. Simon Jones (1879-1967) and the Rev. Rees Jenkin Jones (1835-1924) himself, together with estate records, 1620-1916, of the Clettwr estate, Cardiganshire, Cilgell Isaf estate, Carmarthenshire, and of premises in Aberdare, Glamorgan. Much of the material relates to the Unitarian cause in Wales.
