Breconshire estate: letters received

Letters received by the Breconshire estate office, relating to the administration of the estate. These include a number of original files of letters, mainly of letters from J. E. W. Rider, Tredegar's London solicitor, 1911-1915, and letters to J. H. Rosser, the Breconshire estate agent, and his draft replies, 1927-1930. However, most of the letters were found loose, including further letters from Rider and draft letters of Rosser.

Breconshire estate: correspondence subject files

Tredegar Breconshire estate letters and other papers relating to specific subjects that created substantial quantities of correspondence. Some of the files (ABC 2/2/1-2, 5, 7-8, 10) are original bundles created by the staff of the Tredegar estate office, Brecon. The other files comprise letters that were found loose and would otherwise have become part of the annual files (ABC 2/1), but have been gathered together for convenience.

Original files of letters received at the Tredegar estate office, Brecon, comprising files of letters from J. E. W. Rider of Lincolns Inn, Lord Tredegar's London solicitor, 1911-1915, and annual bundles of letters received by J. H. Rosser, along with drafts of his replies, 1927-1930. The letters relate to all aspects of the administration of the estate, and particularly to the sale of property in 1915 and 1930.

Letters unrelated to the Tredegar estate

Letters to H. Edgar Thomas and Henry F. W. Harries of Brecon, solicitors. The letters were removed from three binders intitled 'Office'. Many of the letters appear not to relate to the Tredegar estate but to other matters, presumably on behalf of other clients. The original binders have been discarded.

The file includes the will of John Evans of the parish of Brecon St David, yeoman, 1822, included with a surrender dated 1876, and the will of Howell Rees of Brecon St David, 1857, included with a surrender dated 1873.
