Award on controversies depending before the Council in the Marches of Wales between William Powell, of the parish of Llansoy, esq., and George Harries of Llangome, yeoman, made by Edward Herbert of Creik Howell, co. Brecknock, esq., and John Thomas of Berthely, gent., on claims of George Harries and Dorothie, his wife, to the copy-hold lands which David Philipe Powell held by copy of William, Earl of Worcester, or any others. William Powell to assure to George Harries a house or cottage with a garden thereunto belonging, with appurtenances in Byston; William Powell and Water Powell, clerk, of the parish of Llangome, if William Powell can get Water Powell to agree; in default William Powell to assure George Harries as much ground in quantity in a tenement or messuage which he has in the parish of Uske, near Gohelock, to the value of the said meadow; William Powell to assure George Harries another close of lands in the parish of Llantrissen with appurtenances; all such assurances to be made good in law, within six years. In return George Harries and Dorothyie, his wife, to allow William Powell and his heirs to occupy and enjoy the copyhold lands late of David Philipe Powell, his father and on demand, within six years, to give lawfyl conveyance and assurance and to pay William Powell £3. 6. 8. on 1 May next in the church porch of Llansoy or upon the Cross in the churchyard there. On the reasonable request by George Harries, within six years, William Powell to deliver to him all evidences, scripts, copies and writings on above lands. Signed Edr.
