Denbigh, in 1922 on his entering the ministry; originally belonging to Mathew Evans (d. 1815), Brynmeredydd, Llandderfel, co. Merioneth, and afterwards to his brother John Evans (d. 1872), Hendremorfydd, Corwen. Bears the signatures of Evan Evans and Mathew Evans and manuscript memoranda, including religious verse and a note on the death of Mathew Evans.

Twenty-seven letters and cards, 1948-1974, in French, from the Breton artist Xavier de Langlais (Langleiz), and his wife, Annick, to Anna Wyn Jones (née Richards), Neath Abbey (ff. 1-47), together with prints by Langleiz, [1947]-1954 (ff. 70-79).
The prints include five lino-cuts, [1947]-1948, containing representations of Saint David (f. 70), King Nevenoe [Nominoë] (f. 74) and Saint Erwan [Yves] (ff. 75-76). Also included are a further twelve letters and cards, [1950s]-2000, to Jones from Annick de Langlais and her children (ff. 48-69), and ephemera, 1948-2000, concerning Langleiz (ff. 80-91).

Estate and family records, 1183-1957, of the Wynn and Williams Wynn family of Wynnstay, Denbighshire. The archive includes a group of architectural drawings, c. 1770, by James Byres; a group of early charters and deeds, 1183-1676, from the Cistercian Abbey of Strata Marcella (Ystrad Marchell) near Welshpool, Montgomeryshire, and elsewhere; antiquarian, legal and literary manuscripts; account rolls of Sir Richard Wynn, Treasurer to Queen Henrietta Maria, 1627-1649; manorial records relating to manors and boroughs in Denbighshire, Montgomeryshire and Shropshire, 1364-1895 (1934-40 and 1952 deposits); parliamentary election papers for Anglesey, Cardigan (county and borough), Denbighshire, Flintshire and Montgomeryshire, 1621-1883; family and estate correspondence, including part of that of Sir William Williams (1634-1700), Speaker of the House of Commons; rentals and account books, 1300-1925 (preserved in an almost unbroken series from the time of Sir William Williams); over 5000 title deeds and documents, [pre-1290]-[c. 1910], mainly relating to properties in the six North Wales counties and Shropshire, including records for Glascoed and Llanforda, Llwydiarth, Llangedwyn and Glanllyn, Plas-y-Ward, Rhiwgoch and Mathafarn, estates acquired either by marriage or purchase in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries; together with papers relating to administration of the estates, 1573-1946; family papers, 1499-1913, county and central government administration papers, 1608-1880; two discrete groups of Much Wenlock estate records, 1534-1860, and Nantcriba estate records, 1381-1680; and various maps. A small group of holograph letters of the family of Williams Wynn of Wynnstay:- a letter, 16 January, 1717/18, from Wat[kin] Williams (aft. Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, 3rd bart.), from Westminster, to his father Sir William Williams, 2nd bart., at Wynnstay (the writer's visit to Baron Price about 'our Denbigh business', Baron Price's son is to have the lordship of Denbigh, the writer's decision not to send his coach horses down, a request to hasten 'Ned Wynn' with money, news of the King and the Prince, Sir Thomas Hanmer is the greatest man in England with the Prince); a letter, 21 June, 1747, from [Sir] Watkin Williams Wynn, 3rd bart., from Wynnstay, to Mr. Griffiths, apothecary, in Bedford Street near Covent Garden, London (support for Sir Thomas Clargies and Sir John Philips in the Westminster election); a letter, 21 October, ----, from [Sir] Watkin Williams Wynn, 4th bart., to John Evans, Esq., at Wynnstay (Mr. Wyatt's allocation, the writer's return to Wynnstay, etc.); a letter, 26 May, 1789, from Charlotte Williams Wyn, wife of the 4th bart., from Richmond, to John Evans, Esq., at Wynnstay (glass for new rooms, a flood-board to new cascade, money matters, a new malt room, Sir Watkin's health); and the blank dorse of a letter addressed 'To The Members of the Cycle'.

Personal papers and especially papers relating to the public offices of members of the Wynn family of Gwydir, Caernarfonshire. These include letters and orders from the Privy Council and from Thomas Gerard, Ralph Eure, William, earl of Northampton, etc., as Lords President of the Council of Wales and the Marches to Sir John Wynn, 1st baronet, relating to the government of Caernarfonshire and the mustering of soldiers for various wars. The papers from the reigns of Henry VIII, Edward VI and Mary chiefly relate to preparations for wars in Scotland and France, whilst the papers from the reign of Elizabeth I chiefly relate to preparations for wars in Ireland and against Spain. The archive also includes papers relating to the Civil war and to elections in Caernarfonshire. The archive is an important source for local administration in late sixteeenth and seventeenth century Wales and for the relationship between local and central government. Most of the papers relating to the Gwydir estate for this period have not survived.

Some of the Ceredigion papers in clients' files derive from Griffith Jones of Aberystwyth, solicitor (1880), later of Aberllolwyn, esq. (1890), while other papers relate to his personal affairs. Other papers derive from the practice of R. Geddes Smith of Aberystwyth, solicitor (1882-1887), which became Smith Owen & Davies [Robert Geddes Smith, William Pierce Owen and William Davies] (1890s), Smith, Davies & Evans [C. Denham Evans] (1910s), Smith Davies & Co., and Smith Jessop & Tomley (late 1960s-early 1970s).

The diaries cover most of Lord Roberts' time as Member of Parliament for Conwy and his entire career at the Welsh Office and include letters, newpaper cuttings and pictures added by Lord Roberts. Many subject are covered including the establishment of S4C, Welsh language legislation, inward investment, the Falklands War, the Gulf War, Northern Ireland, the bombing of the Conservative Party conference in Brighton by the IRA in 1984, general elections and the European Union.
