Letter from Siraj ud-Daula,

I had appointed Shaikh Amar Allah to the post of faujdari at the haklah of Hoogli but I now realise that he would not be able to perform his duties without the assistance of Fakhr al-Tujjar. Therefore, I am sending him there and advise you that all relevant cases should now be referred to him at that place. I hope this will not interfere in the affairs of the [East India] Company. -- Another, contemporary translation of the contents is CR8/1, entry no. 142.

A contemporary translation of the contents is CR8/1, entry no. 114 including on a separate paper an addendum comprising the last six lines of translation, from: 'Having occasion for some teake timbers...'.

Relates to entry no. 137 in CR8/1. Refers to a treaty with the Afghan monarch, Ahmad Shah Abdali Durani, as in above-mentioned translation, though the date and content differ slightly.

Letter from Siraj ud-Daula,

A contemporary translation of the contents is CR8/1, entry no. 88. An enclosure, which bears the harkarah's signature on verso, requests: 'It has become known that the French army intent on battle has set out from the ports [banadir?] of [Deccan?], therefore writing if some of your army can help...'.
