Poetry notebooks containing drafts and notes for poems, as follows: Small notebook with drafts of poems 1964-1965 (ff. 1-18); Ditto, 1965-1966 (ff. 19-36); Ditto, 1966-1967 (ff. 37-60); Drafts of two poems, originally loose leaves (ff. 61-63); Sketchbook containing worked drafts of poems, 1967-1968 (ff. 64-81); Drawing block containing worked drafts of poems, 1968-1969 (ff. 82-88); Typescript drafts with autograph changes of six poems; autograph fair copies, dated 1964, on the back of picture postcards which illustrate the poems, of 'Camargue' and 'Camargue Cross' (ff. 89-102). Most of the poems included in this volume were collected in A Sense of Europe: Collected Poems 1954-1968 (Llandysul, 1968).

Papers, 1970-1988, relating to the legal status of the Welsh language, accumulated by Tom Ellis while he was Labour MP for Wrexham, mainly comprising correspondence between himself and Raymond Garlick, 1971-1979, 1988 (ff. 1-171 verso). They relate mainly to court cases concerned with the language campaign in the 1970s and contain references to the operation of the Welsh Language Act 1967 and to the activities of Cymdeithas yr Iaith Gymraeg and other groups. Press cuttings and other related papers forming part of this group are NLW ex 1045.

Two personal copies of the journal Dock leaves which belonged to the artist Arthur Giardelli (1911–2009). Dock leaves, vol. I, no. 2 (Easter 1950), includes his article : ‘The Glyn Vivian art gallery’, and a letter, dated June 1950, from Raymond Garlick. Dock leaves, vol. II, no. 5 (May 1951), contains two letters, dated October 1951, from Friedrich R. Könekamp, author of the article ‘Artists and specialists’, published in this edition.

David Jones designed the lettering for the title page of Agenda, which was edited by William Cookson.
