Typescript copies containing some manuscript amendments, 1976, 1978 and 1981, of the Preface by Roland Mathias to David Jones : eight essays on his work as writer and artist, ed. R. Mathias (Llandysul, 1976); the article 'David Jones: three letters', published in The Anglo-Welsh Review, no. 61 (1978); and a further article about the writer, 1981. Also included is a leaflet regarding the David Jones weekend conference organised by Yr Academi Gymreig (English Language Section) in 1975.

Modern Poetry lectures

Notebook containing autograph drafts, September 1966, of a series of eight lectures entitled 'Modern Poetry Lectures', apparently given by Vernon Watkins at the University College of Swansea.
The lecture notes contain references to various poets, in particular T. S. Eliot (ff. 2-16 passim), W. B. Yeats (ff. 3-31 passim), D. H. Lawrence (ff. 17-24), Wilfred Owen (ff. 24, 26-31) and David Jones (ff. 24-28). Excerpts from the notes were published in Poetry Wales, 12.4 (Spring 1977), 52-55.

Some ninety-five letters, 1955-82, to Keidrych Rhys from various correspondents (surnames I-L), mainly in his capacity as editor of Wales and Welsh correspondent of The People, together with poems, short stories and essays submitted to him for publication. The correspondents and contributors include Augustus John (2) 1959, A. G. Prys-Jones (3, with three poems and an article) 1959, David Jones (1) 1959, Elisabeth Inglis-Jones (2) 1955-7, Glyn Jones (7) 1957-82, and Mervyn Levy (5) 1957-8.

David Jones

The file comprises letters and papers relating to David Jones, writer and artist, collected by Ray Howard-Jones, a friend of many years. The papers include correspondence with his niece after his death, letters from Saunders Lewis and Jack Raymond Jones, obituary notices, press cuttings relating to his life and career, papers relating to a memorial exhibition for him, in which Ray Howard-Jones took part, a newsletter of the David Jones Society, a poem by Ray Howard-Jones in his memory, and other papers, together with a photocopy of part of a letter in the hand of David Jones.
