Twenty-eight notebooks and bundles, 1796-1815, consisting of travel journals and agricultural notes relating mainly to Iolo Morganwg's work for the Board of Agriculture in Glamorgan and Carmarthenshire in 1796 and his contribution to Gwallter Mechain's General View of the Agriculture and Domestic Economy of South Wales (London, 1815).
Also included are fragments of tours in parts of England (E5/13); a journal of his tour to North Wales in 1799, collecting materials for the Myvyrian Archaiology (E5/18, formerly 'IAW 144'); bundles of loose agricultural notes (E5/26-27); and geological notes relating to Glamorgan (E5/28).

Four letters, mostly in English, May-October 1831, May 1834, from John Jones (Tegid), Oxford, to Henry Jones, Merthyr Tydfil, mainly concerning Tegid's dispute with William Bruce Knight on the proposed reform of Welsh orthography (see W. B. Knight, Remarks, Historical and Philological, on the Welsh Language (Cardiff, 1830) and John Jones, Reply to the Rev. W. B. Knight's 'Remarks' on Welsh Orthography (Cardiff, 1831)).
Tegid quotes excerpts from letters of support received from Aneurin Owen (f. 1 verso), the Rev. Walter Cecil Davies (f. 2), George Phillips, BA, (f. 2) and Walter Davies (Gwallter Mechain) (f. 5). Also included are holograph poems, in Welsh (ff. 5 verso-6, 7, 10), including 'Merch ieuanc mewn darvodedigaeth', 1833 (f. 7), which was published in the Cambrian Quarterly Magazine and Celtic Repertory, 5 (1833), 56.

A bound volume labelled 'Eisteddfod Proceddings', compiled by William Jenkins Rees (1772-1855), rector of Cascob, Radnorshire, and consisting largely of printed notices addressed to him by Cambrian Societies in Wales and in London. The contents include a notice of an eisteddfod under the auspices of the Gwyneddigion Society at Caerwys, 1798, together with Gosodaethau a Rheolau Cymdeithas y Gwyneddigion and other material relating to the Society; a draft consitution of the Cambrian Society in the hand of W. J. Rees [1818]; resolutions and accounts of the Cambrian Society in Dyfed, 1818-20 and undated; programmes of concerts at the Town Hall, Carmarthen, by the Royal Bath Harmonic Society, 1819-20; a programme of an eisteddfod to be held at Carmarthen in 1823, together with manuscript addresses delivered by Thomas Price ('Carnhuanawc') and [Daniel Evans ('Daniel Ddu o Geredigion'); resolutions of the Cambrian Society in Gwent, 1821-2; material relating to eisteddfodau and concerts held at Brecon, 1822 and 1826; resolutions of the Cymmrodorion Society in Powys, 1819-24; announcements of eisteddfodau to be held at Wrexham, 1820, and Welshpool, 1824; a holograph letter from Walter Davies ('Gwallter Mechain') to W. A volume originally used fairly extensively by Thomas Richards, Darowen as a rentroll of tithes set in the parish of Darowen, 1824-31. Beginning at the end, also in the hand of Thomas Richards, are a note from the Shrewsbury Chronicle, 1829, on the 'Rearing of Apple Trees'; medical, veterinary and household recipes; and accounts of receipts and disbursements (tithes, road rates, rents, etc.) of Thomas Richards, 1827-31. The remainder of the volume was used by Mary Richards, circa 1850-4, to record transcripts of a list of books in the library of Thomas Richards, Darowen; letters from Evan Richards to Thomas Richard[s], curate of Eglwys fach, near Dovy furnace, undated (religious meditations, a pocket Bible), Ch. One of the sources quoted by Mary Richards is a manuscript of Sir Thomas Llwyd, 'Person Cemes, Sir Drefaldwyn'. The outside upper cover is inscribed '1825 Tithe Book'.
