At p. 8 three triplets are written in the margin. For the estimated date of the manuscript see pp. 80, 132. The text at p. 127 differs greatly from that in the Book of Taliesin (see Peniarth MS 2).

A manuscript, beautifully written in part, containing an abridged copy of Brut y Tywysogion to the year 1101 (pp. 1-36), with marginal commentary in English and a brief account of Hywel Dda's Laws interpolated in the text after the year 913; an account of King Arthur's knights, especially Owain ab Eirien [Urien] (pp. 37-62); and an account of the life of Sylvester, who was pope in the time of the Emperor Constantine (pp. 63-69).

A composite volume containing miscellaneous material, chiefly in the hand of William Owen [-Pughe] and lettered on the spine 'M.S.S., Vol. I'. A manuscript volume with the title 'AMRYW' in gold lettering on the spine. Written throughout by William Owen [-Pughe], the manuscript contains transcripts of parts of two older manuscripts, the one in the hand of Lewis Morris [B.M. Add. MS 14908, ff. 36-58], and the other in the hand of Owen Jones, 'Owain Myfyr' [B.M. Add. MS 15020, pp. 1-5, 7-12, 27-8, 33- 5, 44-5, 52-8, 67-70, 93-107, 109-15, 117-23]. The first item in the present manuscript, pp. 1-39, is a transcript of the Statute of Rhuddlan, 'Ystatus Rhuddlan yw hon. A.D. 1283', copied from Lewis Morris's manuscript, which is in turn a copy of a vellum manuscript in the Hengwrt library, which he transcribed in 1738 [i.e. Peniarth MS 41]. The remainder of the present manuscript is copied from B.M. Add. A composite manuscript volume lettered on the spine 'MSS. Collections Relative to Wales, II', being a companion volume to, and a continuation of, NLW MS 6209E, which is also a composite manuscript (sections numbered I-XIII) bound in a similar manner and lettered on the spine 'MSS. Collections Relative to Wales, I'. It appears that the two volumes originally formed one folio manuscript belonging to Edward Lhuyd made up of transcripts by his assistants, contributions by Henry Rowlands and Hugh Thomas, and fragments of earlier manuscripts (see pp. 14-15 of NLW MS 13918F, 'Catalogue of Welsh M.S.S. in Beechwood Library by the Reverend Mr John Jones [?1746-1827] M.A. Fellow of Jesus College Oxon, 1781', i.e. part of the Sebright collection.
