A holograph essay on 'Bywyd a Gwaith James Spinther James' [Baptist minister and historian], by 'Elimelech' [the Reverend William Joseph Rhys, Treherbert]. The essay was awarded a prize in an essay competition organised by the Welsh Baptist Historical Society in 1938.

Yn rhydd yn y gyfrol ceir copi o bryddest yn dwyn y teitl 'Gerddi y Beibl' gan ac yn llaw Robert Jones ('Meigant'), a ddyfarnwyd yn ail orau yn Eisteddfod Aberhosan, Nadolig 1880, ynghyd â beirniadaeth gan ac yn llaw Richard Davies ('Cyfeiliog') = A nineteenth century draft of a Welsh Baptist hymn book, containing manuscript and typescript hymns by Joseph Harris ('Gomer'), William Rees ('Gwilym Hiraethog'), Morgan Rhys, William Williams, Pantycelyn, Christmas Evans, Titus Lewis, James Spinther James, Ann Griffiths, Benjamin Francis and others, all of which are pasted into the volume. There are also translations into Welsh, some by Gethin Davies, of hymns by Isaac Watts, Charles Wesley, Bernard of Clairvaux, James Montgomery, Sarah Flower Adams and others. Loose in the volume is a copy of an autograph pryddest entitled 'Gerddi y Beibl' by Robert Jones ('Meigant'), judged second best at Aberhosan Eisteddfod, Christmas 1880, together with an autograph adjudication by Richard Davies ('Cyfeiliog').

A manuscript containing notes relating to the history of Tabernacle Baptist chapel, Talybont, Cardiganshire by Trebor Aled, who was pastor of the church from 1906 to 1917. Also included are letters to him from J. Spinther James, D. Bassett and others, mainly in connection with the history of that church.
