A volume in the hand of D. Silvan Evans described on the title-page as 'Lewis Morris's Additions to Dr Davies's Welsh-Latin Dictionary (from autographs) 1879. (The original Copy, once belonging to Lewis Morris, and annotated on by him, is now (1879) in the possession of the Rev. Thomas James, LLD, ['Llallawg'], Vicar of Netherthong, near Huddersfield)'. The scribe has added the following observations: 'The additions, it will be seen, are few, and very unimportant ..', and at the end has recorded the following entry: 'Returned the Copy of Dr Davies's Dictionary lent me by Llallawg, for transcribing the preceding notes, July 30, 1879'.

A folder containing eight files of original letters and copies of letters and poetry from the eighteenth to the twentieth century. Files 1-3: Transcripts of letters by Lewis and Richard Morris, mainly to Evan Evans ('Ieuan Fardd') and Dafydd Jones of Trefriw, almost all published in Hugh Owen (ed.), Additional Letters of the Morrises of Anglesey (1735-1786), Y Cymmrodor, Vol. XLIX, 1947-9, the remainder published in G. J. Williams (gol.) Llythyrau at Ddafydd Jones o Drefriw. Cylchgrawn Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru. Atodiad. Cyfres III, Rhif 2 (1942), and J. H. Davies (ed.), The Letters of Lewis, Richard, William and John Morris of Anglesey (Morrisiaid Mon) (Aberystwyth, 1907-9). The original letters or copies from which these copies were transcribed are in the British Museum (Add MSS 14929, 15021, 15024, 15029) and the National Library of Wales (mainly Panton 74 and NLW MS 476). There is also a transcript of a letter from the Reverend Thomas Ellis, Holyhead to the Reverend Humphrey Owen and the Reverend J. Hoare, 1742 (the original letter is preserved in NLW MS 478), and a copy of Evan Evans's elegy to Lewis Morris, with notes on the text. File 4: Transcripts of letters from Edward Richard, Ystrad Meurig, c. 1759-1766, to Evan Evans ('Ieuan Fardd'). There are also copies of two short letters to Evan Evans from Roderick Lewis, Trefeglwys, and William Howell, Llanidloes, which were written on the same sheet as Edward Richard's letter of 1 March 1766. The original letters are preserved in NLW MS Panton 74. A transcript of a letter from Edward Richard, 1766, to Richard Morris (from BM Add MS 15025), and extracts from letters from Edward Richard to Lewis Morris, 1759 and undated (from BM Add MS 15029). A holograph letter from Edward Richard, Ystradmeuryg, 1762, to Lewis Morris, Penbryn (published in Hugh Owen, op. cit. Part II, pp. 562-3). File 5: A holograph letter from [the Reverend] W[illiam] Davies, Llanwryn [Montgomeryshire], 1710, to Henry Newman at the Reverend Mr Shute's in Bartlet's Buildings, London (receipt of letter and a packet from the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, subscriptions from other parishes, has partly prevailed with a certain minister to become a corresponding member). The letter bears the number 2381 (see Mary Clement (ed.), Correspondence and minutes of the S.P.C.K. relating to Wales 1699-1740 (Cardiff, 1952), p. 35. Abstract No. 2381). Holograph letters (13) and some poetry,1791-1819, of D[avid] Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu Eryri'), Waunfawr, Bettws St Garmon, etc. Some of the letters have been published in [John Jones] 'Myrddin Fardd', Adgof uwch Anghof (Penygroes, 1883). The letters are addressed to John Roberts ('Sion Lleyn'), Pwllheli (4), 1791-1806 (corrections to addressee's poetry, tributes to writer's brother, Humphrey, after his death, some short poetical compositions by the writer), to Griffith Williams ('Gutyn Peris'), Llandygai (8), 1799-1819, (poetry, subjects upon which writer desired addressee to compose hymns, meetings of bards and eisteddfodau, comments and news of contemporary poets, writer's health and work), and one letter, addressee not named, 1804, (addressee's poetry which writer had received, desires addressee to render 2 Samuel XXII in strict metres and to ask other poets to do the same). The poetry includes verses entitled 'Y Cynauaf mawr diweddaf' subscribed 'D. T. a'i cant allan o'r Saesneg ar ddymuniad John Jones Llandwrog Medi 10d 1804 (cf. Dafydd Thomas (Dafydd Ddû Eryri), Corph y Gaingc (Caernarfon, 1834), pp. 323-4), and 'Englynion newyddion i Long newydd o Gaernarfon yr hon a elwir Valiant'. There is also some poetry in English by [John Blackwell ('Alun')] and in Welsh by Evan Evans ('Ieuan Glan Geirionydd'). A holograph letter from the Reverend P[eter] B[ailey] Williams, [1828], to David Owen ('Dewi Wyn o Eifion'), Gaerwen (seeking to persuade addressee to become one of the adjudicators at the [?Denbigh] Eisteddfod etc.). A manuscript consisting largely of transcripts and memoranda by Mary Richards and Thomas Richards of Darowen. The volume appears originally to have been used as an account book of receipts and disbursements in respect of the farms of Llwyn, Cafnmaelen and Byrthlwydd [parish of Dolgellau, Merioneth], 1799-1802, and also to record biographies of [James Crichton, 'The Admirable'], Sir Francis Walsingham, Sir Francis Drake and William Cecil, Lord Burghley. Grug, and R[hys] G[och] Eryri; comments on the need for a better grammar of the Welsh language which, inter alia, would pay attention to 'dialectical peculiarities'; a list of seven topics or subject or chapter headings for 'Historical Dissertations on the Ancient British Bards and Druids, etc.'; chronological computations concerning the possibility of a certain Dafydd Jones, a native of Cardigan, having seen, circa 1530 or 1540, an elderly woman who remembered another elderly woman who had seen D[afydd] ab Gwilym; groups of, or notes on, Welsh words; etc. Notes in two instances have been written on the verso and margins of a printed circular announcing the printing of Edward Williams's two volumes of English poems entitled Poems Lyric and Pastoral (202 + 211) and of a printed copy of the resolutions of a meeting of gentlemen and woolgrowers of the county of Glamorgan held at Cowbridge, 16 April 1806, when it was resolved to establish a wool fair for the said county to be held at Cowbridge in July (unnumbered pages between p. 317 and p. 318 and p.319 and p. 320).

A manuscript containing 'Ystoriaeu Owen ap Urien [pp. 13-56], y Llong Voel [pp. 57-64], Aristotle ac Alexander [pp. 65-75], a Saith Doethion Rhuvein [pp. 76-145]'; together with Breuddwyd Goronwy Ddu (pp. 146-153); 'Rhyveddodeu Ynys Brydein'(pp. 154-160); etc. The manuscript is in the hand of Ieuan ap Ieuan ap Madog: a note at the end of the volume states 'Ag velly y terfyna hyny o law drysgwl Jeuan ab Jayan ab madog yn y flwyddyn o ddât jessy grist . 1574' (see also Llanstephan MS 178). On pp. i-iv is a title page and table of contents in the hand of Lewis Morris.

'Gossodedigaetheu a Messureu y Deyrnas, Cantrevi a Chymydeu Kymry', being a list of hundreds, commotes and other geographical divisions within Wales. At the end of every division is a list of its castles.
The list of 'Cantreds and Commotes of Wales' (p. 5) agrees practically with the one in Peniarth MS 163.

A 'Copy of the Dedication of, and Preface to Sir Thomas Wiliems's Latin-British Dictionary', together with notes on the life and work of Dr John Davies, Mallwyd, and ballads, which include the works of Rowland Fychan of Caer-gai, Lewis Morris and Richard Abraham, written c. 1738 (see p. 2). A transcript, in the hand of Evan Evans (Ieuan Fardd), of 'Brut Gruf. ab Arthur', a compiled version of Brut y Brenhinedd 'transcribed from a very old copy of the British History on Vellum' (NLW MS 1978iB, ff. 1-109 verso, and NLW MS 1978iiB, ff. 110-261 verso); together with copies of correspondence, 1758-1765, of Edward Richard of Ystrad Meurig School and Lewis Morris, relating to Ieuan Fardd, Morris's health, literary criticism and Celtic antiquities, with special reference to Camden and Nennius (NLW MS 1978iB, ff. 111-192); and copies of two letters from 'Dr. Phillipps' [the Rev. The text of Brut y Brenhinedd was the original of the text of Brut Gruffydd ab Arthur printed in the second volume of the Myvyrian Archaiology of Wales.
