A notebook in the hand of J. H. Davies containing a chronological list of printed books in Welsh and of Welsh interest, 1599-1886 and undated, being the first lot purchased by him from William John Roberts ('Gwilym Cowlyd') 'a day or two' before the latter's sale [in April 1897]. At the end of the volume, partly in the hand of J. H. Ambrose ['Emrys'], the success of 'Scorpion' at Llanrwst, the religious revival in the Wrexham area, references to eisteddfodau); and miscellanea, among them being verses entitled 'The Aged Printer' and 'Catolium' by W. J. Mollineux, Halifax, Yorkshire, and an announcement of the sale of household furniture, etc., at Beaver Grove, near Bettws y Coed, 1865.
