Wynn of Gwydir papers (Panton group)

The papers in this Panton group of Wynn of Gwydir papers were arranged into chronological order, numbered in conjuction with related papers in other collections, and catalogued in the printed 'Calendar of Wynn (of Gwydir) papers' (NLW, 1926). Gaps in the sequence of numbered items in this group represent papers in those other collections. The list of corringenda in the printed calendar have been incorporated into the current catalogue, including a few assigned dates that were found to be wrong as a result of further research; as a result of correcting these dates, a number of items (eg, 133 and 201) are now out of chronological position. The papers in the Panton group are numbered 1-2872 (passim), comprising a main series numbered 1-2846, and a supplement numbered 2850-2872 (both passim), and have been bound as NLW MSS 9051-9069. The papers should be ordered by their NLW MS volume number, although, as they have been microfilmed, they will normally be issued to readers as films: NLW MSS 9051 (NLW Film 1017), 9052 (1017-18), 9053 (1018), 9054 (1019), 9055 (1019-20), 9056 (1020), 9057 (1021), 9058 (1021-1022), 9059 (1022), 9060 (1023), 9061 (1023-1024), 9062 (1024), 9063 (1025), 9064 (1025-1026), 9065 (1026), 9066 (1027), 9067 (1027-1028), 9068 (1028) and 9069 (1029). The papers may be referred to either by their calendar reference, eg, Wynn of Gwydir 58, or by their volume and item number, NLW MS 9051E/58.
