Original bundle of deeds relating to, among others, m's and lands called Chapel or Chapel House farm (57a.) and Kyah otherwise Caia (70a.), both t. Dudleston, p. Ellesmere, and the Rock otherwise Coed-yr-allt (28a.), p. St Martins, all co. Shrop., 1837-1838 and 1870-1871, and particulars of Chapel House and Kyah farms, part of the Plas Yolyn estate, considered by Cyrus Morrall as security for an advance of £2,200 and 4% in 1910. The original packet (discarded) was inscribed 'Stewart Landeman's trustees' and 'C. Morrall's £2,200 mortgage Plas Yolyn estate, Salop (paid off)'.

Original bundle comprising Rev. Cyrus Morrall's will, 1874, and codicils and draft codicils, 1866, 1871, 1872, 1874, 1875 and 1881; draft transfer of a mortgage for £3000 etc., secured on property in p. Ellesmere, to which Rev. Cyrus Morrall was a party, 1875; and letters from Cyrus Morrall, his son, to Messrs Robinson, Preston & Stow about the terms of his father's will, 1881.

Original bundle of papers, including two letters from Edwin A. Hill of New Haven, CT, USA, with a memorandum on the family of William Jones (1624-1706), 24th deputy governor of Connecticut, claimed as a son of John Jones, 1895; and a long letter from R. H. Davies of London enquiring about the John Jones letters published in 'Trans. Hist. Soc. Lancs & Ches.' for 1861 (table of letters, 1651-1660, included), then the property of Rev. Cyrus Morrall of Plas Yolyn, including a letter of introduction from Thomas Ellis, MP for Merioneth, 1898.

A closely written tract vindicating 'The late action of the Army vpon seuerall members of Parliament' and 'The Parliaments prosecutions to the beheadinge of the late Kinge', followed by a copy, in the same hand, of Morgan Llwyd's poem 'The law was euer aboue kings' (Gweithiau, vol. I, p. 55). The tract and the poem express similar sentiments and the former may also be the work of Morgan Llwyd.

A letter, 25 March 1651, from Morgan Llwyd, from Wrexham, to Mr. John Whittell, Chester, 'to bee comunicated to them that are taught of God in Chester' (testifying a word concerning the being and life of Jesus Christ). Only the last paragraph is in the hand of Morgan Llwyd.

A draft by Morgan Llwyd, 17 April, 1657, of a statement on the Fifth Monarchy Men. Also included in the volume, being originally attached to the statement, is a leaf containing an exhortation not to forerun the steps of Jehovah.

The plea and demurrer [1655] of Sir Mauris Williams, kt., one of the defendants to the petition of Collonell John Jones; and brief, undated, for the defendant in the case of Sir Maurice Williams by Tho. Caprett, his lessee, plaintiff, against Coll. John Jones, by Will. Jones, ejector, defendant, touching the title to properties of Dr. William Lewis in Llandiwe and Llanendoyni [sic], Merioneth.

Holograph letters, etc., of the family of John Jones, Junior, of Wrexham, etc. The writers include Humphrey Jones to his [step-]daughter Mary Jones, Bryn y ffynnon house in Wrexham, 1684-1686 (3), and to John Jones, 1685-1686/7 (2) (the management of the writer's affairs in Merioneth, etc.; money matters, the execution of Alderman [Henry] Cornish and others, the hearing of the writer's case before the Lord Chancellor, a purchaser for Penamnen); Jo. Jones, Wrexham, to Humphrey Jones, Aldermanbury, 1685 (the Penamnen tenants, claims upon estate owners in the lordship of Mr. Pugh of Mathavern, etc.); John Lloyd, Wrexham, to John Jones, Cheapside, London, 1689/90 (the plight of the widow of the heir of Collonell Michael Jones); and Ann Leven to her uncle John Jones, undated (personal, news of uncle Payne). Also bound in the volume is a true copy, in the hand of Humphrey Jones, of a rental and particulars of arrears sent by Mr. [Charles] Price, 1689.

Denbigh, esq., together with an undertaking by John Carter to give a just account (mutilated); an account of receipts and disbursements on behalf of [?John Jones] since 6 August, 1683; a holograph letter from Hugh Williams, Marle, to Humphrey Jones, Alderman Bury, London, 1686 (legal, with reference to the Voylas estate); an account of money resting in Mr. [Charles] Price's hands, 23 August, 1687, and of money due at Michaelmas; and the answer, undated, of Humphrey Jones, one of the defendants to the bill of complaint of William Lloyd concerning properties said to be mortgaged by John Jones ('the regicide') (mutilated).

Rider), to 'Neddy', 1686 (Mr. Edisbury at Erthigge), to cousin Basnett, 1687 (bill in Chancery), and from Mould to Edward Morrall, Dudlyston, 1688 (a request for diet drink, etc.); Rich[ard] Murhall, Whitchurch, to Edward Morrall, 1703/4 (the payment of a bill); Tho[mas] Morral, C[astle] Br[omwich], to Frances Edwards, 1718 (money matters, an eye mixture, personal); and Tho[ma]s Knight, Whitchurch, to William Challnor, 1748 (a bond). The miscellaneous papers include receipts to John Murrell of Kil-Henery, 1678-1685, Edward Murrell, 1689, and Edward Morrall, 1832; a note of the debt due from Frances Morrall to Mrs. Morrall, widow, 1746; and a late seventeenth century note of the value of the Plas Yollin estate.

Prichard, Shrewsbury, to Mr. Morrall at Mr. Challnor's, 1766 (the signing of a mortgage, Sir H. Bridgeman's nomination); [the Reverend] Davd. Price, Glynn, to William Challenor, Plas Yollen, 1800 (the writer's rent); and Edw. Morrall, Plas Warren, to B. F. Buckley, 1846 (Charles Morrall's will, the preservation of game). The miscellaneous papers include a statement of rents and debts, signed J[ohn] M[orrall], [16]69; a statement of account between Mr. [John?] Morrall and the Right Hon. William Earl of Craven, 1670/1; a receipt for a legacy of £20 under the will of Frances Edwards late of Keelhendre, 1757; a pass given to Edward Morrall to go from Helsingfors to St. Petersburg, 1801; and undated [eighteenth century] particulars of land belonging to Mr. Morrall.

Papers of the family of Hanmer of the Fenns, Flintshire, and Morton Sea, Salop, relating mainly to the delinquency of William Hanmer. They include a holograph letters from Tho. Hanmer, London, to William Kirkham, Iscoide, near Whitchurch, Shropshire, [16]90 (instructions concerning stock and estate matters); a holograph letter from William Hanmer, Fenns, to William Lloyd, Halghton, 1712/13 (sureties of Davies nad Cliffe's wife); an order by the Committee of Parliament in Shrewsbury for the release of William Hanmer upon payment of part of his composition money, 1645; a receipt by James Hatton, minister of God's Word at Whitewell Chappell, to Robert Wyn, servitor to William Hanmer, for 10s. as a stipend or wages given from the manor house of Fennes to the said chapel for half a year, 1647; a certificate by the Commissioners for Compounding with Delinquents that William Hanmer of Fens-hall had compounded and that he ought not to be molested, 1648; an order by Oliver Cromwell to all officers and soldiers, giving protection to William Hanmere of Fenns, 1648/9; an order by the Committee for Advance of Money for the discharge of William Hanmere of Fenns hall on payment of £200 more than the £150 paid by him in Salop, 1649; a receipt, 1655, by Roger Sontley to William Hanmer for £16.1s.6d., being the moiety of one year's charge upon his estate; an order, 1656, by H. Mackworth, Rob. Hutton, and Charles Langford to William Hanmer to bring in a more perfect particular of the true value of his estate; an order, 1646, by the Committee for Compounding with Delinquents to forbear to proceed upon the sequestration of the estate of William Hanmer, together with a particular of the estate; a certificate, 1655/6?, that William Hanmer of Morton Sea is well affected towards the government (unsigned); an order, 1656, by the Council at Whitehall that William Hanmer of the Fennes has licence to come up to London for attending to some private affairs of his own (signed by W. Jessop, clerk); an order, 1658, by Thomas Croxton to all commanders, etc., in the counties of Chester, Denbigh, and Flint to allow William Hanmere, a prisoner at Shrewsbury, to return to his house at Fenns for the space of fourteen days; a petition, undated, of William Hanmer of Morton Sea to His Most Excellent Highness Oliver, Lord Protector of England, etc., to be allowed the charges upon his estate in his tenths; two versions, undated, of the charge of delinquency against William Hanmer of the Fenns; a note taken out of the register book of Hanmer recording the christening, on 19 September, 1622, of William, son of Thomas Hanmer and Katherine, his wife; and two undated schedules of debts charged upon the estate [of William Hanmer?].

Particulars and rough plans by Edward Pryce of Kynvel, Merioneth, of parels of land held by lease of Owen Vaughan of Llwydiarth, Montgomeryshire, deceased, in Gweinion and Malloyd in the lordship of Mowthwey, and a parcel called y kae hen in Creinion veghan in the lordship of Powys, 14 February, 1621/2.
