Recites prenuptial settlement (Lease and Release) (dated 19-20 March 1779) of Thomas Davies and Judith Hughes, whereby properties in Bronington, Bettisfield, Northwood, Penley, Overton, Wellington Iscoyd, Ewloe, Flint, Wern, and Bistree, co. Flint and Shropshire (property of Thomas Davies) and considerable real estate (unspecified) (property of Judith Hughes) in co. Denb., were conveyed to the use of Thomas Davies and Judith Hughes with remainder, on the failure of male issue, to the eldest daughter; Lease and Release (dated 10-11 April 1801) whereby all properties of Thomas Davies and Judith Hughes in p's Hamner, Hawarden, Mold, Overton, and Ellesmere, co. Flint and Shropshire, were conveyed to the use of Thomas Davies with remainders successively to Judith his wife and Elizabeth his eldest daughter (i.e. 2); that it was agreed by 2, on the advice of Thomas Davies, to sell the recited properties and with the money, buy other properties near the capital mansion and estate of Plas Draw, co. Denb.; that Thomas Davies has received considerable sums of money on the sale of the estate and has purchased divers properties near Plas Draw; that parts of the estate remain still unsold; that Thomas Davies died 30 Sept. 1806 without male issue, leaving 2, their eldest daughter; that Thomas Davies has declined to deliver to 1 and 2 an account of the estate already sold, of the prices he has received, and an account of the several estates he has purchased and that he has declared that the estates so purchased have been conveyed to himself in fee instead of for life only with remainder to 2; that 1 and 2 do not know in what manner Thomas Davies has effected the purchase of the estate.
