Penbedw estate, title deeds,

Title deeds which appear to have been originally filed together, described on an accompanying slip as ‘Old writeings relating to Penbedw estate purchased by Richard Williams Esq.’ The series relates to properties of the Penbedw estate near Nannerch, now in Flintshire but previously in Denbighshire, belonging to John Hughes. The purchase deed to Richard Williams appears to be missing. The files describe the capital messuage and other properties in the township of Penbedw, 1546-1674, and lands in Caerwys and Hendregaerwys, 1582-1681.

Hirnant, title deeds,

Title deeds of properties in the parish of Hirnant, Montgomeryshire, and the township of Trefedw, usually called Cwm y Vedw in the original deeds. Most of them were acquisitions of the Vaughan family of Llangedwyn and Llwydiarth and Sir William Williams of Glascoed in the seventeenth century, augmented by purchases by Sir Watkin Williams Wynn between 1811 and 1831. Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, title deeds,

Title deeds relating to properties in the townships and parish of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, on the borders of Denbighshire and Montgomeryshire. In the Wynnstay rentals these properties are listed under the estates of Glantanat, Llangedwyn, Glascoed and Llansilin. Two bundles of deeds record substantial purchases by Sir William Williams of Le Forrest and the Kevenhire estate in Banhadla and Llanarmon Mynydd Mawr, Denbighshire, in 1685 and 1698. Other deeds record acquisitions by Watkin Kyffin of Glascoed and Edward Vaughan of Celynog and Llwydiarth.
