The printers' copy (typescript, with manuscript emendations) of D[avid] E[ rwyd] Jenkins (ed.): Religious Societies (Dr. Woodward's 'Account') . . . ( Liverpool, 1935), in which sections of Josiah Woodward: An Account of the Religious Societies in the City of London, &c., and of their Endeavours for Reformation of Manners (4th ed., enlarged, London, 1712), were reprinted, with a historical introduction by D. E. Jenkins, dealing more specifically with Wales.

One of two volumes containing lists of lands and manors mentioned in thirteen of the books of liveries preserved among the miscellaneous books of the Court of Wards and Liveries. The places have been entered under the names of English counties, this first volume containing names taken from volumes 1-8. According to a note, 1719, by C. Grymes on the inside cover the index was compiled by one Phillips.

Notes, extracts, etc., by E. R. Horsfall Turner from various printed sources including [A. H.] Dodd: The Industrial Revolution in North Wales [( Cardiff, 1933)]; [Edward] Hamer [:A Brief Account of the] Chartist Outbreak [at Llanidloes in the year 1839 (Llanidloes, 1867)]; [J. L. and B.] Hammond: The Age of the Chartists, 1832-54 [(London, 1930)]; History of the Chartists and the Bloodless Wars of Montgomeryshire (Welshpool, N.D.); various numbers of the Shrewsbury Chronicle and Salopian journal for the year 1839, etc. The material was probably collected in the course of research work on Chartism in co. Montgomery.

A pocket book containing sermon notes in Welsh ? by, and in the hand of, [the Reverend] Lewis Williams, Wesleyan minister, London, whose name, with the date 27 September 1842, appears on a fly-leaf at the beginning of the volume. The last page bears the date 1 July 1846. Miscellaneous memoranda in English have been inserted on a few pages.

This album contains 72 b&w photographs relating to plots and experiments into grass and clover cultivation and related topics.Captions on the reverse of many of the photographs indicate they were taken in Drownboy field, Jealott's Hill, Berkshire.

A history, compiled c. 1840, possibly by Edward Edwards, of the abbey of St Peter and St Paul, the vicarage of the Holy Cross and several churches, all in Shrewsbury.

The office of the dead, substantially as in F. Procter & C. Wordsworth, Breviarum ad usum insignis ecclesiae Sarum (Cambridge, 1879-1886), II, 271-82 (ff. 1-50, one leaf wanting before f. 1 and one after f. 46); antiphons, responses and versicles are all noted for music; written in textura, rubrics and staves in red, plain red initials, perhaps mid 15 cent. Added prayers in cursive hands on f. 50v. Quire 8 (ff. 51-8) is from an earlier manuscript, perhaps first half 15 cent., written in textura with blue initials and red penwork; it begins and ends abruptly, containing part of the litany followed by psalm 118. Quire 9 (ff. 59-63), in a cursive hand, on paper, second half 15 cent., concludes psalm 118 and has collects and a post-communion from masses for the dead (including that for a bishop) and part of the commendation of souls.

A manuscript armorial of English and Welsh families entitled The nomenclature or Heralds Alphabett of Surnames, L-Z (vol. II), with additional notes by Peter Le Neve (1661-1729), Norroy King at Arms. Painted coats-of-arms have been affixed to the manuscript at relevant points throughout the work.

An incomplete copy of Nicholas Culpeper: The English Physician Enlarged ... (edition unknown), with additional manuscript notes on herbs by William Bona, Llanpumpsaint, who has also indicated every herb known to him and grown in his garden. Thomas Evans (Tomos Glyn Cothi) (1764-1833) has entered what appears to be a list of money gifts at a so-called bidding in Carmarthenshire, possibly on the occasion of his own marriage.

An account book of David Jameson, maltster, of Bailey Street, Oswestry, 1800-1825, to which have been added a single entry for 1844 and accounts of goods (tea, coffee, sugar, etc.) received in 1871. The volume was subsequently used as an album for cuttings from Bye-Gones.
