A miscellaneous volume (496 pp.; original pagination incorrect) in the autograph of Owen Williams (1790-1874; 'Owain Gwyrfai'), c. 1841-67, of which the main contents are pedigrees of North Wales families transcribed from manuscripts of the Reverend D. Ellis [Cricieth] and Owen Gruffydd, Llanystumdwy and from other sources (with some additions to Owen Williams's own day); transcripts of twenty-four letters, 1752-7 and 1767, from Goronwy Owen to Richard Morris from a (?)manuscript of Mr Loyd [sic], Plasmeini, Festiniog and of eleven letters, 1752-4, from Goronwy Owen to William Morris ('D.S. Dyma lythyrau'r Gwiliedydd im tyb i. O.W.', but this seems doubtful), and extracts transcribed from the introduction to Lewis Morris's 'Celtic Remains' and from [John Reynolds, A Display of Herauldry (1739)] ('Yr hanesion canlynol a dynwyd o hen lyfr achau a argraffwyd o ddeutu amser Cromwel o waith Reinols'). There is a rough index at the beginning and end of the volume. J. H. Davies has written the following note in pencil on the fly-leaf: 'This is the Llyfr Coch which O[wen] W[illiams] always carried under his arm at Eisteddfodau & Literary meetings. It was originally bound in a red cover.'.

A composite volume in the autograph of Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd') containing (?)essays or addresses (prefaced 'Sketches & Stories') on 'Nodweddiad Cenedlaethol', 'Darllenyddiaeth', etc., with a 'Hir a Thoddaid' beginning 'Wyneb y Genedl o hen Baganiaeth', (?) an adjudication on 'Darlleniaeth', with verses entitled 'Darlleniaeth yr Ysgrythyr', a translation into English by Bl. ab C. of six lines from Eben Fardd's 'Dinystr Jerusalem', a notebook bearing on the cover the words 'Dechreu yr ysgol yn yr Eglwys', containing memoranda, accounts, etc., 1824-9, relating mainly to Clynnog school, 1827-8 (names of scholars), with some earlier references to Llangybi and Llanarmon, a list of poems by Goronwy Owen with the year of their composition, and a copy of the protest presented to Lord Mostyn following the awarding of the chair prize at the Rhuddlan Eisteddfod, 1850, for a 'pryddest' instead of an 'awdl', with a copy of Lord Mostyn's reply.

A composite volume in the autograph of Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd') containing a summary of the main events of his life, 1802-58, notes concerning Goronwy Owen, David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu Eryri') and David Owen ('Dewi Wyn o Eifion'), various accounts and memoranda, partly in pencil, including the following: 'Sepr 17 1844 Received from Mr Hugh Humphreys 144 copies (Printed) of my 'Harvest Hymns' 2/6. Distributed as follows ...', and 'Dr. Burton's Theory of the Millenium', lines entitled 'Contemplation on a River's Bank (From Eben Fardd)' by 'Bl. ab C.....n [i.e. a translation of 'Myfyrdod ar lan afon'], notes of an address or sermon in Welsh on education, and notes on the Hebrew alphabet, etc.

A holograph manuscript of Peter Bailey Williams containing annotated transcripts of 'awdlau', 'cywyddau' and 'englynion' by Goronwy Owen; letters of Goronwy Owen, Lewis Morris ('Llewelyn Ddu o Fôn'), and William Morris (printed in J. H. Davies (ed.): The Letters of Goronwy Owen (1723-1769) (Cardiff 1924), The Letters of Lewis, Richard, William and John Morris ... 1728-1765, vols I-II (Aberystwyth, 1907-09), etc.); lists of 'Modern Welsh Authors, [fl. 1590-1770] and '... Bards who flourished about 1280'; 'englynion' by Rhisiart Jones ('o Fôn) and an 'awdl' by 'Guttun Gwrecsam' ('sef John Edward, neu Sion Ceiriog'); and a list of 'Authors of Welsh Grammars'. There are some annotations by St George Armstrong Williams.

A minute book of the Berriew branch of the Montgomeryshire Auxiliary of the British and Foreign Bible Society, 1818-20, together with lists of subscriptions and donations, 1818-25, and an account of Bibles distributed in the parish, 1819-23. Much of the volume was probably compiled during the late 1840's, but there are additions to the early 1870s.

A manuscript largely in the hand of Mary Richards, Darowen containing 'Llyma ddeall y pader ynghymraeg' ('o lawysgrifen ar femrwn cyn 1600'); 'Copi o Ramadeg Gymrae[g] rhai a ddywed Gramadeg Coronwy Owain y dechreu yn eisie'); 'cywyddau', 'englynion' and some 'penillion' by Robin ddu, Dafydd Gorllech, Guttun Owain ('Meredith ab Rhys medd eraill'), Sion Philip, Sypyn Cyfeiliog, Edmund Prys, William Philip, Howel Bedo, Owen Gryffudd, Edward Morys, Owen Robert, Hugh Morys, William Elias, Dafydd ap Gwilim, John Rogers, Ifan Tew Brydydd and Bedo Brwynllys, and anonymous poetry, the greater part of the poetry by Owen Gruffydd and copied 'o Lyfyr Owen Gruffydd'; there are later verses by 'Dewi ab Ioan', (Blaen Afon), David Charles [Carmarthen], Thomas Jones (Maes y Cerndi), J. The manuscript is in the form of two books, of which one was partly used, c. 1820, by 'J. H. M. L.' to record 'Adnotationes quaedam admodum miscellaniae', including a list of titles of Welsh airs, a list of Welsh expressions and their English equivalents and notes on the accidence of the Welsh language. Used as the upper end paper is a fragment of an 18th century answer of Christopher Welcker the elder, one of the defendants to the bill of complaint of Wm. Sherlock and Frances, his wife, and James Blundell and Mary, his wife, complainants.

A composite volume in various late eighteenth and early nineteenth century hands consisting largely of 'carolau', 'englynion', hymns, etc. by [David Thomas, 'Dafydd Ddu Eryri'], R. Philips, Mary Rees (Llanbrynmair, 1828), [David Jones] ('Ieuan Cadfan') (Llangadfan, 1827), R. Ll., Thomas Williams, John Roberts, John Thomas, Evan Willians [sic] ('o blwy Darowen. Gefen Barhedin'), J. A. Owen ('Bardd Meirion'), 'Iorwerth ap Robert ab Arthur' (Glynn Ceiriog) ('Neu Ned Glann Gwryd'), [? Robert Ellis] ('Cynddelw'), Rowland Hugh ('or Grienyn ...'), H. An imperfect composite volume largely in the hand of David Rowland, Bala, and begun by him probably in 1757. There is also a list, in a later hand, of preachers and their texts at a [Methodist Association, c. 1800, and an inset of 12 pp. in the hand of 'Huw ap Huw' [i.e. Hugh Hughes, 'Y Bardd Coch o Fôn' containing elegies to Lewis Morys ['Llywelyn Ddu o Fôn'] by Gronwy Owen and the scribe. The volume is lettered 'Cerddi Cymraeg'.
