[Two views of Abertillery]

Copies of views of the exterior of the British Schools, Abertillery, numbered 6017 (Ridley 1411) and an unidentified chapel interior, numbered 6016. The chapel interior is taken from the balcony looking down on the organ and pulpit.

[Unidentified church]

Exterior view of a medium sized church in a rural setting. The tower appears older than the rest of the church. Appears to be in a rural setting. A small number of gravestones are visible in the surounding churchyard, one in the name of 'James London.'

[Unidentified Railway Construction Site]

Includes steam engine 'Grosvenor', a 'Steam Navy' crane with a plaque 'John Mowlem & Co No 28.' Grosvenor is believed to be the Hunslet Engine Co. built 0-6-0 saddletank locomotive, No. 288 of 1884. The construction site is on the edge of a large settlement. Below the church is a board on which '&SWR' can be read. This may refer to the London & South Western Railway which operated along the south coast where Ridley was based. As it bears his no.1250 it is a relatively early photograph and as such it can be surmised that it belongs to his native area.
