Original file of letters to William Condry, mainly with other naturalists and ornithologists, members of the Kite Committee and representatives of other societies. Includes reports of sightings; also the arrival of grey squirrels at Rhandirmwyn, co. Carm., 1949; a printed history and subscription list of the "Farmers' Defence Committee" against the Forestry Commission's proposed compulsory purchase of 20,000 acres in the Upper Tywi valley, 1949-1952; a list of known egg collectors, 1951; and the national campaign to criminalise the gin-trap, 1952.

Original file of reports and historical references to kites outside Wales, mainly comprising photocopies from county faunas and bird books, for Peter Davis's projected history of the kite in Britain. The photocopies are from books dated 1834 (Robert Mudie, 'The feathered tribes of the British Isles') to 1989 (Lorand & Atkin, 'The birds of Lincolnshire and South Humberside').

Original file of Peter Davis's copies of Kite Committee papers, including minutes of the West Wales Field Society, 1950; annual reports on the kite's status and nesting season, 1950-1970; notes on, minutes of and reports to Kite Committee meetings, 1959-1966. Several of the papers, containing locations of nests then in use, are marked confidential.

Original file of agendas, minutes and other papers of the pre-1971 and post-1971 Kite Committees. The pre-1971 papers are very incomplete.

Kite annual breeding reports,

Original file of yearly breeding season reports, 1990-1999, many with the confidential section 2 containing the locations and success of each known breeding pair. Peter Davis compiled the report to the Kite Committe at the end of the breeding season, although there is frequently a revised report for the record in the light of further information. Also notes, drafts and circulation lists. Also site lists for 2000 and 2003, and Peter Davis's Welsh Kite Watchers Group nest record sheets for nests in the Nebo - Ffos-y-ffin - Felinfach area, co. Card., 2004.

Red Kite Country,

Original file of letters, memoranda, papers and publications relating to the Welsh Office / Development Board for Rural Wales / RSPB / Welsh Tourist Board initiative to develop the Spotting the Red Kite (the Red Kite Trail) project, the name being changed c.Feb. 1994 to Red Kite Country. A letter in the general correspondence file for 1990-2011 (E 32 below) mentions that the initiative expired in 1997.

Original file of reports of and notes on ringed or tagged dead kites, including the recovery of a ringed female (HT27208, ringed June 1988, found dead May 2012), probably the oldest recorded Welsh kite, displacing HW08418, a male that died at Tregaron in March 1992, a month younger than this new bird, 2012; and the recovery of HT25680, a male ringed at Talsarn, June 1990, found dead Aber-arth, at 23.5 years the third oldest kite known by ringing, Jan. 2014.
