David Davis, London, to Taliesin Williams, Cowbridge,

David Davis, London, to Mr Taliesin Williams, Flimstone near Cowbridge. Various instructions as it is very probable he will not be at home till a day or two after the school is opened. Reference to his proceedings here - 'Collecting money is a very painful trade - The Board are well disposed to manage the affairs of the Academy on the plan of our Petition'.

David Davis, Neath, to Taliesin Williams,

D. Davis, Parade, Neath, to Mr Taliesin Williams, Merthyr Tydfil. Acknowledging his letter of the 3rd inst. - Mr Poyson had promised to settle accounts with him (DD) before this. Giving the addressee credit for his assurance that he knows nothing of the blank letter addressed to Mr J. Bippert from Merthyr. More about Mr Poyson. Hoping the addressee's father is recovered from his late indisposition.

David Davis, Neath, to Taliesin Williams,

D. Davis, Neath, to Mr Taliesin Williams, Merthyr. He has forwarded the letters which the addressee sent him stating the case of the Unitarians at Merthyr. The apology he has to offer for not pressing upon their little Society at Neath the addressee's application. 'Your father dined with me last Wednesday week on his way to Carmarthen.' Hoping the addressee will exert every nerve in promoting petitions against Mr Brougham's odious Education Bill.

David Davis, Gloucester, to the Rev. Owen Evans, Cefen Coed y cymmar, Merthyr Tydvil,

D. Davis, Gloucester, to the Rev. Owen Evans, Cefen Coed y cymmar, Merthyr Tydvil. Is glad that the spirit of Druidism, in the true sense of the word, given by him (DD) in a letter to the Rev. Mr Bruce Knight on Jan. 16 last, is understood and respected in the Vale of Neath. The report of a procession of Druids there gives him this assurance. The etymology of the term Druid or rather Derwydd, the original of it. He wishes this letter to be shown to Mr [Taliesin] Williams. An enclosure for Mr Williams from Mr Smith. Enclosure wanting.

David Davis, Gloucester, to Taliesin Williams,

D. Davis (of Neath), Gloucester, to Taliesin Williams, esq., Merthyr Tydvil. Knowing the addressee's sincerity and believing that the difficulty he feels in making up an opinion definitively is the only reason of his silence the writer sends him an extract from a letter he received from the Rev. T. Price of Crickhowel (Carnhuanawc) and a copy of the letter he wrote to the Rev. T. Price yesterday.

John Davis (Brychan Bach), Tredegar, to Taliesin Williams,

[John Davis], Brychan Bach, Tredegar, to Mr Taliesin Williams, Glebeland, Merthyr. This morning he received a large pile of poetical compositions from Cymreigyddion y Fenni to adjudicate. Begging the addressee's assistance to do justice to them. P. S. If it is quite impossible for him to accede, telling him to ask their friend Roger Williams unless the latter has some part in the competition himself.

John Davis (Brychan), Tredegar, to Taliesin Williams,

Jno. Davis, 'Brychan', Tredegar, to Mr Taliesin Williams (Ab Iolo), Merthyr. He would not wish to try to induce the addressee to give up his resolution; all he wants is his opinion about the compositions. The reason why he does not appeal to Gwilym Morganwg is the distance. If the addressee has quite made up his mind to leave him in the lurch this time, asking him to entreat Roger Williams to come over some evening this week, or else if the addressee thinks that better, he will send the compositions over for both TW and RW to look over them there.

John Davis (Brychan Bach), Tredegar, to Taliesin Williams,

[John Davis], 'Brychan Bach', Tredegar, to [Taliesin Williams]. Sending a few verses composed by I. Ddu Glan Iorwy on the occasion of the opening of an Oddfellows' Lodge at Mynyddislwyn, with a request for an English translation. He would like the addressee to send to Mr Thomas Vaughan, Schoolmaster, for the January Number of the (Oddfellows') Magazine - it contains a photograph and a biography of the writer (Brychan Bach).
