Breconshire sale papers

Victoria Inn, Brecon

Vouchers, accounts and sale particulars (three copies) relating to buying out the tenant of the Victoria Inn, Brecon, the demolition of the premises and the sale of a portion of the site with the adjoining shop and dwelling houses as a building site. The site was sold to David Powell of Brecon. Lot 2 on the sale particulars is a building site at Sennybridge close to the railway station.

Llys-wen parish hall

Letters, 1910-1911 and 1923, an extract from a conveyance from Lord Tredegar to Rev. W. L. Crichton and others of a piece of land (9p.) for the site of a mission hall, 1911, and Boulton & Paul Ltd of Norwich's catalogues of pre-fabricated churches, mission rooms and schools, 1909-1910. The letters include "Lord Tredegar made it plain that he was going to give the site upon the same trusts as he usually does of the Parish Rooms in Monmouthshire and Glamorganshire [...] you will see that they practically earmark the building for Church of England purposes and no other".

Abstract of title

Printed abstract of title (two copies) of Lord Tredegar and the trustees of his settled family estates to freehold hereditaments in Breconshire. Most of the document is an abstract of the 1896 Tredegar settlement, and the abstract is designed to be the purchaser's title in the sale of Breconshire estate properties.
