Manuscripts and papers of Iolo Morganwg and Taliesin ab Iolo, [16 cent.]-[20 cent., first ¼], comprising correspondence of Iolo Morganwg, 1676-1826; manuscripts and other papers, [16 cent.]-1900, mostly collected or written by Iolo Morganwg, including Welsh and English poetry and prose, pedigrees, grammars, and other literary and personal papers; correspondence, 1809-1864, and other papers, 1761-[1840s], of Taliesin ab Iolo; and family correspondence of Taliesin's grandson, Aneurin Williams, [?1868]-1908.

Various stanzas including 'Bardic Triplets' (crossed out) and 'I dig for odd rhimes (crambo's), for by trade I'm a delver'. The following note occurs in the margin: 'John Edwards (Ceiriog) died Sepr. 10th. 1792. aged 41'.

'The Smuggleton Chace or The Devil hurry'd Huntsman, A Song. Tune - The man that is drunk is void of all Care', beginning, 'Ye Bold Antient Britons, attend to my song ...'. 'Iolo Morganwg ai Cant'. On the reverse side is a list of poems headed 'new Collection Bath'.

'Ex Taliesin'. 'Come forth Seithenin! view the land ...' (A rendering of 'Seithinin saw di allan [sic]').

'Defiance to Cowbridge Drunkards, by the Country Juvenal Topers, or Farmers' sons Triumphant', beginning 'Bard Wiliams has sung of your Cowbridge famed drinkers ...'. 'Taliesin ai Cant'. (In the autograph of E. W.). On the reverse side are some 'Psalmau' (crossed out).

'Sylvia Lost. An Elegiac Song. written, for a Friend, in 1772', beginning, 'What's it to me that bloomy spring'. In the margin is the title 'Delia Lost'.

Verses beginning 'Thrice happy do I hold that wight' described as 'Old version of Saphoes ode'. On the reverse side is an account of the way in which E. W. was stopped on the road by James Evans and struck with a whip. This occurred on April 18; the year is not given.

Lines 'On the slave Trade', beginning, 'Whilst in more spritely (chearful) themes gay thoughts prevail ...' by 'Iolo'.

'Bardic Triplets, or moral aphorisms of the ancient Bards translated by Edward Wiliams' (cf. 33) (in the autograph of E. W., as is the explanatory note; signed 'T.W.', which begins, 'The inclosed Welsh tripplets are from a MS of my father's [?and] with them I send you an English Translation'.

Verses including the first two of 'On first hearing the cuckoo', ('Hail lovely harbinger of spring!'). On the reverse side are ten stanzas 'Written in Avondale. Ith. Gm.', beginning 'Now vivid hues the skies adorn ...'.

'Whimsical Dick [altered to Dick Flighty] a character' by Ith. Gm. 1780, beginning, 'Ye whimsical mortals one moment attend ...'.

'Pastoral Ballad' beginning, 'Beware of Love, ye gentle swains ...'. On the other side are 'Epitaph on an old maid' and the beginning of a song entitled 'Wedding'. (Iolo Morganwg MS 102/48).

'The Royal Shepherd, a Pastoral Ballad', beginning, 'Dark was the night and howling winds / urged on the stormy show'r...'. Endorsed 'Ballad on King Edward 2d'.

'The Sigh from D. G.' ('Sigh of grief why sudden start ...'). These lines have been crossed out, and on the reverse side is 'The Birchen Bow'r from D.G' ('In my tranquil birchen bow'r ...').

Announcement of the publication 'on Tuesday next', as a specimen of the translator's compositions, of 'The Fair Pilgrim A Poem Translated from Dafydd Ap Gwilym ... By Edward Wiliams ... Printed by S. Hazard & sold by all the Booksellers of Bath and Bristol and by the Author No. 36 Broad- street Bath'. Endorsed: 'Advertizement for Mr. Rees's Newspaper', and 'Anstey, Hodge podge', etc.
