The file mainly comprises typescript drafts, [1977]-1985, of some of the articles which appeared in A ride through the wood : essays on Anglo-Welsh literature, (Bridgend, 1985), including essays on David Jones, Alun Lewis, and Emyr Humphreys. Also included is a reprint of the article 'David Jones - towards the 'holy diversities'' from Transactions of the Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion (1981); and a printed copy of the Annual Gwyn Jones lecture, The lonely editor: a glance at Anglo-Welsh magazines (Cardiff, 1984).

The file comprises letters and papers relating to David Jones, writer and artist, collected by Ray Howard-Jones, a friend of many years. The papers include correspondence with his niece after his death, letters from Saunders Lewis and Jack Raymond Jones, obituary notices, press cuttings relating to his life and career, papers relating to a memorial exhibition for him, in which Ray Howard-Jones took part, a newsletter of the David Jones Society, a poem by Ray Howard-Jones in his memory, and other papers, together with a photocopy of part of a letter in the hand of David Jones.

A file, apparently compiled, [1986x1987], by John G. Gallagher, relating mainly to BBC radio adaptations of In Parenthesis, 1964, The Sleeping Lord, 1981, and The Anathemata, 1953 and 1978, by David Jones, containing transcripts of the adaptations and also including transcripts and cuttings from newspapers and periodicals relating to the historical background to In Parenthesis and to David Jones and his work in general.
Papers relating to the artist and writer David Jones
Research notes and a draft catalogue of the worksheets of In Parenthesis and The Anathemata by David Jones compiled at the Library in 1981, together with a list of letters by Tony Stoneburner, 1977, a catalogue of parts of the archive by Harman Grisewood, and a Catalogue of the artist's drawings and papers in the possession of the David Jones Trustees in 1992, prepared by Matilda and Douglas Hall.

The file comprises mainly of correspondence, 1968-1969, relating to the preliminary meeting and other early meetings of the English Language Section of the Academi. The preliminary meeting was arranged by Meic Stephens and the file includes invitations sent out by him, letters of reply, and letters commenting on this first meeting. The file also includes letters inviting writers to become members of the Academi, their replies and lists of those writers who have accepted or declined membership. There are a few references to discussions about the establishment of a new English language literary magazine, an idea which was rejected for the time being.
