A transcript of 'A Course of Lectures on Rhetoric and Belles Lettres. By Hugh Blair D.D. Vol I. Edinburgh Winter 1768/91', with corrections and additions, by Paul Panton (the younger). These lectures were first published in 1783.

A prescription book of John Harri[e]s (d. 1839), astrologer, medicine-man, and 'conjurer' ('dyn hysbys'), of Pant-coy, Cwrtycadno, Carmarthenshire. The contents are based partly, if not wholly, on what the writer describes as 'Edinborg Gulen' [sic] [i.e. an Edinburgh edition of the works of Claudius Galen].

A volume of papers of David Jones ('Dewi Fardd'; 1708?-85), Trefriw, of which many are in his own hand. Much of the contents of the manuscript was transcribed by David Evans, Llanrwst in Cwrtmawr MS 117.

An incomplete manuscript of texts and tables on astrology and witchcraft and medical and other recipes in the hand of 'Dauidd Dafis', 1804. The following are some examples of the titles included in the volume - '... y Deuddeg Arwydd', '[D]rych wynebau', 'Tabl i wybod pa Flauned a Riwlia Bob awr Dros Byth', 'Hyfforddiad i alw Ffasiwn ar ysbrydion a elwir Tylwyth Teg', 'Y Ffordd ar modd I gaul Trysor giddiedig a ffotho wedi Ei gadw oddiwrth iws Dun', 'Ffordd i alw math ar ysbryd a elwir ysbryd Brestt', 'y Ffordd i Ddwad i hyd i Leider a Ddygo Riwbeth oddi arnoch chwi ...', 'ffordd i wneudd Temting Powder i Beri Cariad', 'Dyma Ddeuddeg rhinwedd Croen neider', '... y Graddau', 'Dyma Deyrnasiad y plaunedau', 'Rhod Pithaoras', 'L[l]yfr Ew. Daflus i adnabod Dun wrth i wyneb...', etc. The manuscript is imperfect at the beginning (pp. 1-12 wanting) and probably also at the end (pp. [74] - ). There is a fragment of a late 19th century transcript in the form of an insert, and also three charms in other hands which have been bound into the volume.

An anonymous interlude, 'Anterliwt Oliphurnes (Oluphernes)', written at Plas [?Gwynfryn], Llanbedr, 1732, by Edward Evans (see E. D. Jones: 'Rhai o Anterliwtiau Cwrt Mawr', The National Library of Wales Journal, 1958, pp. 421-2). This interlude is not to be identified with the one by Ellis Roberts ('Elis y Cowper') contained in Cwrtmawr MSS 46, 123.

A notebook of W. J. Roberts ('Gwilym Cowlyd'), containing an incomplete adjudication on 'pryddestau' on 'Ofergoeledd', transcripts and drafts of poetry including 'Clogyrnau ir Daran' submitted for competition at Gyfallwy Eisteddfod, 1855, and accounts.

A notebook of Jane Hughes, 1830, containing a sermon by Daniel Rowland, 'gynt gweinidog yr efengil yn Llangeitho, a chaplan Duc o Leinster'; hymns; and an account [?by Jane Hughes] of her conversion to Wesleyan Methodism in 1815, with references to religious meetings at Maentwrog, Corwen, Penrhyn[deudraeth], etc., and to the writer's sister Elin Angel.

A volume entitled 'Casgliad o Psalmau a Hymnau' in the hand of Evan Evans ('Ieuan Glan Geirionydd'; 1795-1855). The collection contains psalms numbered 1-150, with many omissions, and 443 hymns, of which 424 are numbered. The authors include Edmwnd Prys, Isaac Watts, John Hughes, Pontrobert, Richard Jones, Wern, Llanfrothen, William Williams, Pantycelyn, James Hughes, London, David Charles, Carmarthen, Edward Jones, Maes-y-plwm, David Thomas ('Dafydd Ddu Eryri'), Ann Griffiths, Thomas Charles, Bala, David Jones, Cynwyl Gaeo, Morgan Rhys, Llanfynydd, David Williams, Llandeilo-fach, Titus Lewis, Carmarthen, Evan Evans ('Ieuan Glan Geirionydd'), John Elias ('o Fôn'), John Roberts, Llangwm, Peter Jones ('Pedr Fardd'), William Edwards, Bala, John Thomas, Pentrefoelas, Morgan Llwyd ('o Wynedd'), John Williams, Pantycelyn, William Griffiths, Glandwr, William Jones, Bala, Roger Edwards, Mold, etc. There is at the beginning an incomplete subject index to the contents of the volume ('Dangoseg o'r Prif-faterion yn y Psalmau a'r Hymnau trwy y Llyfr') in the hand of the scribe. Many of the items are to be found in the collection published by the scribe under the title of Casgliad o Salmau a Hymnau ... (Caerlleon, 1829), but the manuscript bears a closer resemblance to other editions of 'Psalms and Hymns' of the first half of the nineteenth century, notably Morris Davies, Llanfyllin: Casgliad o Salmau a Hymnau ... (Bala, 1832).

A miscellany entitled 'Blwch Manion', largely of the period 1855-9, in the hand of Enoch Williams ('Llithrig Arfon'), tailor, Llanrwst. It contains strict- and free-metre poetry by the scribe and others; a copy of part of a letter from the scribe's brother, W. E. Williams, Trenton, New Jersey, to his uncle Richard Jones [Capel Curig], [18]56 (the writer's reminiscences of Capel Curig, the writer's church membership); the scribe's wages accounts and tailoring measurements; memoranda relating to eisteddfodau; an essay on 'Manteision Gwybodaeth'; an extensive collection of Welsh proverbs; etc. The titles of the poems include 'Englyn i Glogwyn yr Ogo. ger Llanrwst', 'Llinellau Ar farwolaeth Miss Margaret Jones, merch Mr R. Jones, Tuhwnt-i'r-Bont, Llanrwst. Bu farw Hytraf [sic] 31 1853', 'Englyn i Mari fy ngwraig', 'Englyn o anerchiad i aelodau y gymdaethas [sic] lenyddol yn Llanrwst', 'Englynion beddargraff....' (to Llewelyn Samuel, Bethesda, William David, Siop y Garreg, Dinas [Glamorgan], William Jones, Pen Rallt, Betws-[y-coed], Hugh Jones, Pen Rallt, and John Jones, 'diweddar Ddeiacon Bettws y Coed'), 'Englyn i Miss Elinor Roberts, merch Mr David Roberts, Tan y Ffordd, Llanbedr ...', 'John Mills ['Ieuan Glan Alarch']', etc.

A commonplace book of the period 1826-8 largely in the hand of Robert Roberts, Tyn y Gors, Hafod Elwy, Nant y glun [Nantglyn], Denbighshire. It includes prognostications of Erra Pater based on the incidence of New Year's Day; receipts and IOU's; hymns; pence multiplication tables; calligraphic exercises; 'penillion telyn' and other free-metre poetry; memoranda relating to Tyn y Gors tithes; a list of sermon texts; astrological diagrams and prognostications based on the phases of the moon and the incidence of thunder ('llywodraieth y lleaud ar gorph dyn ag anifail yn ol ei simudiad trwyr Deuddeng arwudd ynghyd ar nodau' and 'wrth anser [sic] y digwyddo Tranau'); 'englynion' addressed to Peter Roberts; land tax accounts; etc.

A volume of transcripts by Charles Saunderson ('Siarl Wyn o Benllyn'; 1810?-32) of 'cywyddau', 'englynion', and 'awdlau' by Rhys Llwyd ab Rhys ab Rhiccert, Bedo Phylib bach, Iorwerth Fynglwyd, Lewis Mon, Ieuan Tew Brydydd, Huw Cae Llwyd, Iolo Goch, Ieuan Deulwyn, Gruffudd Llugad Gwr, Sion Phylib, Dafydd Llwyd, Ieuan Cae Llwyd, Bedo Brwynllys, Hywel Dafydd ab Ieuan ab Rhys (1460), Ieuan Du'r Bilwg, Dafydd ap Gwilym, Thos. There is also a list, in a later hand, of preachers and their texts at a [Methodist Association, c. 1800, and an inset of 12 pp. in the hand of 'Huw ap Huw' [i.e. Hugh Hughes, 'Y Bardd Coch o Fôn' containing elegies to Lewis Morys ['Llywelyn Ddu o Fôn'] by Gronwy Owen and the scribe. The volume is lettered 'Cerddi Cymraeg'.

An index [by David Evans, Llanrwst] of the first lines of 'cerddi' contained in twelve manuscript anthologies in his possession, together with some additions by J. H. Davies. The lines are listed under their respective authors, and the latter are arranged in alphabetical order of Christian names.
