A volume compiled by, and in the hand of, David Evans ('Dewi Glan Llugwy'), Dolgellau, formerly of Llanrwst, containing a collection of 900 unpublished 'penillion' ('Casgliad o Benillion Cymreig, Anghyoeddedig') which was awarded the prize at Rhuddlan Eisteddfod, 1850, under the pseudonym of 'Diwyd', together with a report of the adjudication; a second collection of 285 and some unnumbered 'penillion' compiled at Llanrwst after the completion of the first; a collection made at Llanrwst, 1865, of 'cywyddau', 'englynion', 'awdlau', 'carolau', 'penillion' and hymns ('Casgliad o hen Farddoniaeth') by Dafydd Llwyd ap Ll'n ap Gryffydd, Cutto'r [sic] Glyn, Rhys Goch Eryri, Gruffydd Llwyd Dafydd ap Einion Lygliw, Huw Arwystl, William Lleyn, Rowland Fychan, Caergai, William Byrchinshaw, E[dward] Kyffin, Simmwnt Fychan, Hopcin ab Thomas ap Einion ('o ynys Dawy'), Rhys Jones ('o'r Blaenau'), Morris Powell, Rosier Cyffin, William Morris, Gwerfil Goch ('neu Mynor Vychan Caer Gai'), H. The collection entitled 'Casgliad o hen Farddoniaeth' contains a section transcribed from manuscripts ('o hen ysgrifau') of David Jones ('Dewi Fardd'), Trefriw, including much of the material contained in Cwrtmawr MS 98.
