The sale was made in consideration of the repayment of six hundred and thirty pounds by the said Robert William Halhed and Robert Clerke Caswall to the said Mary Llewellin, to whom the said parsonage and chapels were mortgaged, and a further charge of seven hundred and fifty pounds paid by the said Robert William Halhed and Robert Clerke Caswall to the said William Powell. The proviso for repayment is cancelled. The said Mary Powell, sister of the said William Powell, assigned all her rights and interest to the said William Powell.

Lease for twenty-one years, if Alice and Richard and Thomas Evans, children of the lessor, shall live so long, of a newly-erected dwelling house with garden and buildings and a parcel of land having the turnpike road from Cardiff to Landaff on the east, lands of Mr. Herbert on the north, lands of Sir George Howell on the west, and lands late of Thomas Lewis, esq., on the south, together with other defined lands with all appurtenances and also with mineral rights, in the parish of Landaff. Thomas Edwards of the town of Pontypool, co. Monmouth, gent.;. 2. John Hodges of the parish of Risca, co. Monmouth, collier. Lease for fourteen years of the beds and veins of fire brick clay under all the lands of the lessor near and under Coed y Garn in the parish of Risca, now in the occupation of Phillips Cocker; also sufficient coal to manufacture the same into bricks; except a certain level opened by the Twm Barlwm (?) Company. The rent is five shillings for each thousand bricks thus made; also one shilling a ton for the coal used for burning the bricks, and one shilling and threepence a ton for fire brick clay and clay flour. Lease for one year, in consideration of the sum of five shillings, of a dwelling house and garden in the city of Landaff, late in the occupation of John Williams, deceased, and now of Mrs. Ormrod; also land called The Two Acres in the same parish, as defined, late in the occupation of the said John Williams. The annual rent is one pepper-corn. The purpose of this lease is to enable the lessees to accept a grant of the said properties. Attested copy.

Lease for twenty-one years, in consideration of a fine of one hundred and twenty pounds and the surrender of a former lease, of the church of Biston and its tithes as specified in Miscellaneous Deeds 91, dated 1816, July 1. The annual rent is four pounds. The lessee shall also pay six pounds annually to the priest appointed to serve the said church.
