A transcript, dated 3 April 1840, of the Welsh text of 'Sir Bevis of Hampton' [or 'Ystorya Bown o Hamtwn'], in the autograph of Ioan Tegid [i.e. John Jones (Tegid)] (B2/1); together with a booklet, entitled 'Bown of Hampton', containing a translation of the first few lines into English in the autograph of Lady Guest, [1842] (B2/2).

A manuscript containing 'Ystoriaeu Owen ap Urien [pp. 13-56], y Llong Voel [pp. 57-64], Aristotle ac Alexander [pp. 65-75], a Saith Doethion Rhuvein [pp. 76-145]'; together with Breuddwyd Goronwy Ddu (pp. 146-153); 'Rhyveddodeu Ynys Brydein'(pp. 154-160); etc. The manuscript is in the hand of Ieuan ap Ieuan ap Madog: a note at the end of the volume states 'Ag velly y terfyna hyny o law drysgwl Jeuan ab Jayan ab madog yn y flwyddyn o ddât jessy grist . 1574' (see also Llanstephan MS 178). On pp. i-iv is a title page and table of contents in the hand of Lewis Morris.

Ystoria de Carolo Magno,

An incomplete annotated transcript by Daniel Silvan Evans of 'Ystoria de Carolo Magno' from a transcript made by Ll[ywarch] Reynolds, Jesus College, Oxford, June 16, 1870, from the Red Book of Hergest (Jesus College MS 1, col. 381 ff.). The present text corresponds to Stephen J. Williams: Ystorya de Carolo Magno (Caerdydd, 1930), pp. 1-31.

Ystoria Charlys,

A volume containing two texts of 'The Travels of Charlemagne To Jerusalem and Constantinople', the one in French and the other in Welsh. The latter is from the Red Book of Hergest (Jesus College MS 1, col. 605 ff.) and is said to 'have been 'Transcribed from a copy made by Mr John Rhys, and collated with the original MS by Mr Llywarch Reynolds, March 8th 1870, and recopied from the transcript of Mr Reynolds, by Thomas Stephens', 22 July 1872.

The Romance of Charlemagne written down by [?Gruffudd Ddu] in the mid 14th century; and a collection of poetry of Gruffudd ap yr Ynad Coch, Guto'r Glyn and others compiled in the 15th - 16th centuries.
The first folios include fragments of indentures and on f. 26b is a representation of Christ on the Cross.

The Romance of Charlemagne as written by Ieuan Ysgolhaig in 1336.
The folios have been misarranged in the binding. This text seems to be the prototype of the version in Peniarth MS 5 (White Book of Rhydderch), Peniarth MS 10, and Jesus College Oxford MS 111 (Red Book of Hergest).

A manuscript in the hand of John Jones of Gellilyvdy, containing versions of Ystoria Bown o Hamtwn (incomplete, pages numbered i-xxiv), Ystoria Peredur ap Evrawc (White Book version, written in three portions, pages numbered 1-129), Ystoria Ysgan ap Asgo arglwydd Bodengan yn Isaled yn swydd Ddinbech, and Llyfr Markolf. The manuscript is written in John Jones's earlier orthography and Ystoria Ysgan is dated 23 Dec. 1608.
