History

In 1985 Brith Gof was commissioned to perform at a Bible Festival. The festival, held in the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, launched a four year programme of events, celebrations and publications to mark the four-hundred anniversary of the publication of William Morgan’s Welsh translation of the Bible in 1588. A street procession was held in the village in collaboration with villagers, Theatre of the Eigth Day Poland and Theatr Dauerton Germany. Also Clifford McLucas was invited by the company to work with them and produced of a series of large street banners relating to the books of the Old Testament the Acts of the Apostles, which were hung on buildings in the village on the day of the festival.
