Just to let you know that I reached Hoogly safely. I have received a letter from the Nawab Sahib informing that he has handed over Taj Khan and other guards of the Company to the Vakil of the Company and taken a receipt from him. He has included a copy of this receipt with his letter. I am enclosing this receipt for your information. - Enclosure 1: . Copy of a receipt with the seal of Muhammad Anis, Vakil of the [East India] Company. - I, Muhammad Anis, Vakil of the East India Company hereby declare that I have received the custody of Taj Khan, Sayyid Mustafa, Balhajram and Satna who were employed by the company at Calcutta and had secretly run away to Murshidabad to seek employment there.
