Maharajah Shitab Rae has written informing me that in order to receive a warrant for the districts of Navab Saif al-Daulah he has spent fifty thousand rupees and it is customary that I should reimburse this amount to the Maharajah and get a receipt. I should also add this sum to the account of the said Navab to be submitted on the 11th of Rabi al-Avval. I am writing to inform you that this sum has now been sent to the Maharajah. -- Enclosure: -- Rajah Shitab Rae is insisting that you should ask your employees to pay him back the sum of fifty thousand rupees he had given you for the preparation of documents. I am therefore writing for your permission to obtain this sum from your government and pay it to the rajah.
