Letters Patent (dated 13 March 1738/9) being a charter of reincorporation granted to the burgesses of New Radnor on account of the Common Council being reduced to so low a number that no bailiff, aldermen or burgesses could be chosen and sworn pursuant to the direction of the charter granted by Queen Elizabeth. This is virtually a translation of the former charter and is granted at the request of the only remaining seven capital burgesses - Thomas Lewis, Herbert Lewis, John Whitmore, esquires, James Lewis, Samuel Vaughan, John James and Charles Evans.
