Biographical history
The Llangedwyn and Llansilin estates lay adjacent to each other, mainly in the parishes of Llangedwyn, Llansilin and Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Denbighshire, and partly in Llanfechain, Llanfyllin and Pennant Melangell, eastern Montgomeryshire. The estate heading for Llansilin in the rentals for 1809-1860 incorporated properties which had once belonged to the Glascoed estate of the Kyffin family. The Montgomeryshire portion has been listed with other Montgomeryshire estates.
