According to a note on the fly-leaf, the manuscript was purchased in London by a Mr Neville of Llanelli and presented by him to the Reverend Morris, parish of Llanelli, who in turn gave it to the brother of the scribe who penned the note; the scribe's brother then deposited the manuscript in the collection of Colonel Vaughan in June 1830.

A metrical translation of Llyfr Salwyreu Dafydd Broffwyd (supposedly the work of Hugh Llwyd of Cynfal) in the hand of John Jones, Gellilyfdy. The manuscript was completed on 25 July 1635 (p. 644).
